Hey everyone. Yep, you guessed it. Starting with Big Brother. We are now down to the final 4. On Saturday’s special eviction episode, Beau was voted out. Ivette won HOH as it came down to her and Maggie. Maggie threw it so Ivette could be HOH as she has wanted it so bad. Ivette nominated Janelle and Howie for eviction. Janelle won the veto and took herself off the nomination block. Ivette put up April as a pawn against Howie. Howie and Janelle did try to work Ivette as it would be a tie vote with Ivette having to be the deciding vote. They tried to get her to vote out April as they talked about how Ivette needs to start looking at getting to the end and who she can win against. Ivette didn’t go for it though and stuck with the Friendship. The vote was a tie and Ivette was the tiebreaker as HOH so she voted out Howie. The next HOH competition tonight had Janelle winning. It was a competition of Julie Chen naming something that happened in the Big Brother house and then they had to decide whether one event happened before or after another. Janelle got every question right and was 6 out of 6 to win HOH. Very happy with that as it will send one more of the Friendship to the sequester house. Some thoughts from the week on the show is that I agree that Ivette should have gotten aggressive and gotten someone from her group out cause she has to start looking at who she can win against and she can’t beat Maggie. I’m not sure about April. The sequester house is a little more busier as we saw tonight with James and Beau getting in there. I thought James was the best as he wasn’t putting up with any of the fake happiness to see him and all. We also found out what happens when you put 24/7 cameras on a Star Wars fan. Howie got his light saber during his HOH week and he has held on to that thing ever since. He and Janelle have been having light saber battles which was fun. Then, Howie has been roaming the house checking out rooms as if he was in a Star Wars movie. Funny stuff. So, the final 4 is Janelle, Maggie, Ivette, and April. America’s Choice vote this week is who would you like to see get a vacation out of the Big Brother house for a day. Vote for Janelle and not the Friendship!!!
I got to spend most of the Labor Day weekend in Nashville. I got to see a lot of the sights. I was surprised with being taken to a Nashville Sounds Triple A baseball game and it was a great time. If you haven’t been to a game down there, do yourself a favor and go. The atmosphere is great there just even with the crowd and all the promotions that go along with the game. There is always something going on even in between innings. The Sounds won in the 10th inning with a single that scored two runs to win the game and they also clinched the American Conference Northern Division title with the win. Not a bad first game for me to attend!!!! I want to give the Opry Mills Mall a big A+ too as we went there on Monday and also got to go to Johnny Rockets to eat. I had never heard of the place but you need to give it a try too if you are near one. Good food and entertainment with even the waitresses all performing songs here and there. Fun place for sure and the mall is just amazing with so much to see! The topping on the sundae was obviously wrestling as we all attended the WWE Raw event live on Monday night. It was a great time as always and we got on TV a ton of times as we had great seats.
I believe I’m in love. No, a girl hasn’t walked into my world. I’m talking about my new TIVO. ha ha. This thing is fantastic and is one of the best electronic inventions ever. I finally bought me one of these things and am blown away with how fun it is. No more looking for tapes to record something. It holds 70 hours of programming. All you have to do is tell it what you want it to record and it will do it for you. It also does it digitally where the quality of the recording looks just as good as it does on live TV. Other cool features are that if there is a show that you really like, you can set it to do a season pass. It will automatically look for that particular show and anytime it finds it on the schedule, it will record it for you without you having to schedule it every week. It also has a preferences thing where it sees what kind of shows you like and it will suggest shows for you that you might be interested in. You can set it to record all preferences or it will just give you preferences but not record them. I hadn’t fixed my preferences so when I got back from Nashville it had recorded all of the preferences that it recommended. I have since turned that off as my hard drive will be full quickly if it continues to do that. It did good though on preferences as it recorded Survivor and the Amazing Race for me. This thing will also record two things at once. You can record one thing and watch something else at the same time. One thing I have found it handy for is recording music videos off of MTV or VH-1. How many times have you sat and waited for a video to be played? With this I recorded 6 hours of music video blocks the other night and then I just searched though it to find the videos I wanted and recorded them off. One suggestion to you is that you need to keep an eye on some of the networks as they tend to get off of their time by a minute or so sometimes. I know that NBC messed up a lot of people last season with them starting shows early or ending them late. One great feature for that and also sports programming is that you can make it record longer than it’s scheduled time in case a game goes to overtime or something. You can run it over by 3 hours if necessary. If you are a big TV person or even a slightly big TV person, get one of these as it will make your life a ton easier!! You will get spoiled quickly with a TIVO cause I know I am already.
My favorite issue of TV Guide is now out and that is the fall preview. I always enjoy reading it to see what the scoop on the new shows are and all. I really like the idea behind How I Met Your Mother as it will be a guy in 2030 looking back to this time in history and it will literally tell how I met your mother in a Wonder Years style of narration. Really cool idea. I also like the idea behind Reunion as from what I understand the show will start in 1986. Each episode will take the show one year ahead in the story. I TIVO’d this show tonight so I plan on checking it out to see how it is. Here are some other premiere dates for some of my favorite shows and others that I don’t watch but know some of you do and wanted to give you the info.

The latest on the mystery behind the Cosby Show season 1 DVD continues. A representative from Urbanworks said that Carsey-Werner provided them with the syndicated episode masters. They said that from here on out they will be using the original network versions of the episodes. They also said that they realize that the fans want the original episodes but we’ll see what happens when season 2 comes out which is said to be tentative for March 2006.
Volume 2 of Star Wars: Clone Wars will be hitting stores on December 6th on DVD. For any Transformers fans reading this, the Transformers Beast Machines series is coming to DVD on November 15th and will include all 26 episodes of the series. I haven’t seen this series so I can’t comment on it.
That’s all I have for this week. Have a great weekend.
