Survivor went my way tonight. First, I guess I need to talk about last week’s Survivor show since I posted for the night before last week’s episode. I was bummed that Gary got voted out as he was who I was pulling for to win the most. I was thrilled that he went out with a bang though. Gary hadn’t called out Judd on how Judd lied on where the secret immunity was but then Judd started saying how Gary had been lying to everyone. So, Gary played his game and called out Judd for his lies on where the immunity idol was and Judd was dumbstruck over what to say back and admitted to lying. This week’s episode got a huge cheer out of me at the end when Judd was voted out. I literally started cheering and clapping. What a sore loser though!! He calls everyone scumbags as he is walking over to Jeff and then says that he hopes that they all get eaten by alligators. Classy buddy!! This is right after he had just given this big speech over how everyone should be happy when one more person is gone cause it is a game and that you are one person closer to winning the money. He said people should get over it and move on over people getting voted out. Then, he snaps when he is voted out. In his goodbye speech for the camera, he once again talked about how he didn’t lie to anyone. What is he talking about? He’s talking to the one camera which is technically the people watching at home and we all know he lied most of the time. The people on the show know how much he had lied too. Yeah, I’m happy tonight as I’ve been waiting for him to get voted off since about week 2.
Fox has decided to shorten Reunion’s season. The show was set to go for 20 episodes with each episode covering a different year which would take it up to the current year. The way the show is on pace for now if they continue to go with the every episode represents a year then the show will end in 1998. A decision has not been made on how they will wrap the show up as far as story wise and if they will continue their every year episode idea. The show has been struggling in ratings since it returned after the baseball playoffs. The show was doing pretty well and then went into hiatus for a month while the playoffs aired. I knew then how bad of an idea that it was for Fox to premiere the show before the playoffs cause you don’t want to give people a month of time in a new TV season to find something to watch at that time slot especially on a Thursday night. It is in a tough time slot for sure. I am definitely not happy over this as Fox once again messed up a new show. What else is new though? In other Fox news, Prison Break ended its fall run and will return in the spring but their problem appears to be on where they are going to put the show when it does return especially with Idol taking up two nights in the spring. I haven’t watched this show but wonder if it may end up like Reunion with them having that kind of break.
I mentioned last week about the possibility of Simon Cowell not being on American Idol in the future. Cowell has signed on for 5 more editions of Idol. So, that is a good thing. Well, I guess it is depending on if you like him or not. I do and am glad that he is back cause Idol wouldn’t be the same without him.
Buffy alums Alyson Hannigan and Charisma Carpenter had a reunion on this week’s Veronica Mars. AOL.com was offering an alternate ending to the episode but I am unsure if it is still there or not. Check it out to see just in case. Veronica Mars is still one of the most liked shows on TV right now. I will be getting season 1 on DVD very soon and have been TIVO’ing all of this season’s episodes so I can get caught up in the future. Speaking of Angel, I was flipping through the channels last night and ended up watching Angel on TNT. They were doing at least a 3 episode marathon during the night. It was on at 1am, 2am, and when I went to sleep, they were promoting that another episode was coming on at 3am. They were season 2 episodes and that season is still my favorite of Angel.
I can’t take much more of the Weavers talking about how they have never been treated the way they’ve been treated on the Amazing Race. All we have heard for the last month is how great they have been to people and how people have been mean to them. I just wonder what they are thinking watching themselves on this show and if it has woke them up with how badly that they have treated the teams on here. I’m glad that this was a long leg of this week’s race cause due to a production error, the Linz’s were moved from 1st place back to 4th place. They had a car battery go dead cause of a problem with production equipment. So, this week’s episode was a part 1 and this leg of the race continues next week. There are 2 episodes left.
I found this news to be interesting giving hope to any shows in the future in danger of being canceled. Disney Channel is going to bring back Kim Possible instead of canceling it. The show does high ratings but always the annoying things with Disney Channel shows is that they top out at 3 seasons and 65 episodes no matter the ratings. That is just the rule that they have with their own produced shows. This happened to Lizzie McGuire and Even Stevens as well which are two guilty pleasure shows of mine. The new management of Disney has decided to lift this rule of topping out at 65 episodes so that is a good thing for shows down the line at Disney. This is yet another example of shows being brought back and how it isn’t impossible. It’s not a likely thing with most shows but not impossible or Kim Possible by that matter. Sorry that was my little failure at a funny little pun there. ha ha.
Ed McMahon has written a book about Johnny Carson. He was on Regis and Kelly this week promoting it. Ed said he had talked to Johnny wanting Johnny to write an autobiography. Johnny didn’t want to write one but told Ed to do it instead saying that Ed knew more about him than he knew about himself. He was asked what his favorite joke was when Johnny would do the swami segments. He said that it was when they opened up the envelope that revealed the words “sisk boom bah”. Johnny opened his envelope that revealed “the sound of an exploding sheep”. Very funny and that was one of my favorites too. I’d really like to read this book sometime.
Sad news from the Back To The Future world. Wendy Jo Sperber, who played Marty McFly’s sister, passed away after a long battle with breast cancer. She is also known for her role in the show “Bosom Buddies”. In her battle with cancer that began in 1997, she started a support network called weSPARK which offers free counseling and other things to cancer patients and their families.
Yes, I’m a classic TV fan too as there are plenty of classic shows that I love to watch. Leave It To Beaver season 1 has made its way to DVD and I am happy to say from the early reviews that the shows appear to be their original airings and not the syndicated versions. They also include the teasers for the episodes. Also seen on the set is the unaired pilot which featured different actors playing Ward and Wally. From what I am reading, it sounds like Universal did a great job with this set so I look forward to getting it in the future.
It was announced last week that Alias will end in May. This has been talked about for a long time on trying to decide what to do with this show. There was talk for a little bit about the show going on without Jennifer Garner but they have decided to just end the show. I have yet to ever watch this show but know a lot of people that love this show so I am disappointed for them. Speaking of Jennifer Garner, her and Ben Affleck are now parents of a baby girl.
Showtime is running a free preview this weekend on DirecTV. I don’t know if it is for cable systems too or not but just wanted to let you know in case. I have already went through the whole schedule picking out some movies to TIVO that I have been wanting to see. Hey, it’s a cheap way to watch some movies!!
Have a great weekend!!
