Strange week in the Big Brother house. The HOH competition is still ongoing as I am watching it right now on the live feeds. On to the whole week of news from the BB house. The season 6 alliance is crumbling quickly. Janelle as HOH nominated Boogie and Erika. Boogie won the veto and took himself off the block. Then, Will got in Janelle’s ear and got her to target a floater so she put up Diane in his place instead of Will. Season 6 has been furious with her. I haven’t quite figured out this season 6 alliance. James is going off about wanting to go after Chilltown cause he doesn’t understand why they keep leaving Chilltown in the game. He said wait till he is HOH next week and he’ll take care of it. Umm, he was just HOH last week and his target was Chicken George??!! Why didn’t he target them then? They just can’t seem to make decisions together and this has to be one of the most fragile alliances I’ve ever seen. I keep wondering if decisions are being made due to secret alliances but from what I keep seeing in diary room stuff, they were supposedly together. Diane was evicted tonight but did get one vote. That one vote was from Will who was looking to shake things up by not letting Janelle think she is controlling the house. I was really hoping that others would follow and keep Diane. I just see a lot more fight in Diane than Erika. The HOH competition was then a web deal where the houseguests are fighting to stay on the web the longest. The one that does will be HOH. I don’t want to give any spoilers so I’ll just say that one person is already out without saying who. Overall, I am really pulling for Chilltown and Danielle. What is the deal with this All Stars version? I couldn’t stand Danielle or Alison and I was starting to cheer for Alison when she got voted off and I am liking Danielle this season. Amazing how things change. I pulled for Will in the last half of season 2 so this isn’t different. I really want to see season 6 get shaken up especially Howie who is coming across really arrogant in the diary room stuff. I would love to see someone from season 6 go next week.
What You Missed On The Live Feeds This Week: Janelle was for the most part isolated in the HOH room a lot of the week. It didn’t send a very good message and houseguests weren’t happy about it. Chilltown was working on her and trying to break up that season 6 alliance which looked really fragile this week. Howie was put on duty to make sure that Will didn’t get to be alone with Janelle so he could talk her into something. Will did get to speak to Janelle alone and made his offer to her for her to keep him and Boogie in the game. I watched him talk to her for about 30 minutes on Sunday afternoon and he was definitely getting through to her which showed with her putting up Diane instead of Will. The wake up call messages played for the houseguests were great!! Some were just saying “hi, I’m _ from __” while another one was a Dumb and Dumber type clip which was the sound after the line “want to hear the most annoying sound in the world”. I have seen all of the wake up calls and it was very entertaining especially the reactions. Diane’s mom, Janelle’s mom, and also Ivette were some of the wake up calls. Alison did a wake up call too. Marcellas was yelling at Big Brother that he was going to throw himself over the balcony. The wake up calls were driving him nuts. Some houseguests just stayed awake cause they knew they couldn’t sleep through it. Kind of reminded me of when they put the mime in the house in season 4 and it drove Alison nuts. That was great!! The houseguests of course got the reward of seeing Talladega Nights. They didn’t like it at all. I think one person liked it. Will said he was about to do some great acting saying that he was going to say that he loved the movie when the group who saw it was called to the diary room. The houseguests somehow got into a conversation about Transformers on Sunday. They knew a little about the cartoons. Some knew more than others. They couldn’t get the name right of who took over after Optimus Prime saying Magnus Prime. Hey, they were close. Ultra Magnus took over leadership but it ultimately went on to Rodimus Prime. They also got into a conversation about old wrestling. It was really cool to listen to them talk about who they remembered and how they compare it to today. The ones in that conversation were Will, Kaysar, and Danielle who knew her wrestling. She had some things and names mixed up but you could tell that she used to be a fan for sure.
Big Brother Line Of The Week: “Janelle’s HOH room is abysmal. It’s like a pepto bismol nightmare” – Marcellas talking about Janelle’s HOH room
Movie box office numbers for last weekend: 1. Miami Vice – $25.2 million; 2. Pirates of the Caribbean – $20.5 million; 3. John Tucker Must Die – $14 million; 4. Monster House – $11.5 million; 5. The Ant Bully – $8 million
I guess Flip This House is switching up crews with every new episode now??? This week apparently had an Atlanta crew. Why doesn’t A&E just announce something on what they have planned with these new episodes instead of us trying to play this guessing game? Oh, and the message board has now been pulled off the site. People haven’t been able to post messages on it since July 25th but you can still read the old messages. Yeah, the backlash was that bad!!
AOL has officially announced what has been talked about for a little while. AOL has been losing subscribers for a long time now. They are now trying to come up with something to keep people and that is that they are now going to let you remain a member for free. Yep, you can keep your AOL email address but you will have to go with another internet company. You can also remain a member of AOL with dialup and it will only cost $9.95 as a separate option to the free route. If you decide to go high speed though through someone else, keeping AOL won’t cost you another internet bill. AOL over the years has had less and less exclusive stuff for members and instead have been making it free on their website. Their service quality has went way down and they basically fight with customers to keep them instead of having them cancel by consistently offering people free months to stay. If you don’t believe me, go search for that clip that was recorded of someone trying to cancel AOL. It’s really odd how AOL just went from the front of the pack to the back of the pack in just a few years. I always crack up at their ads saying that they want you to move up to broadband but they always want you to get it from someone else!! Why do I want to pay two internet bills? Now, you won’t have to. I’m still working out all the details on what is going on with it so if it interests you, research into it. Anyway, we’ll see how this plan works out for AOL.
One of the music holdouts for iTunes has finally given in and that is Metallica. They didn’t put all of their music on it but did put up four albums. You might remember that Metallica led the push against Napster several years ago.
I am really liking that new Justin Timberlake song. It sounds completely different from anything else on radio right now.
So much for any hope of Amy Sherman-Palladino coming back to Gilmore Girls. The Gilmore creator, after a falling out with Warner Brothers, is now headed over to Fox to work on a pilot for them.
I don’t read Harry Potter but that rumor of a major character getting killed off in the last book sure has made a LOT of people mad.
Warner Brothers is set to release the entire Friends DVD collection again. The set will of course include all 10 seasons and a 60 page commemorative book. Not sure if it is the same book that was released after the finale or not. Retail price $299.98. I’m sure it will be cheaper than that in stores and online. If you don’t want to go this route and just want the original separate season box sets, keep an eye on Circuit City and Best Buy ads as they sell each season on sale for around $17.99 every couple of months. This box will be different from the other and here is the pic of what it looks like.
Here are the TV on DVD releases for Tuesday August 8th. Beautiful People (season 1), Brak Show (Volume 2), Farscape (Starburst Edition-Volume 11, 4.2), Fresh Prince of Bel-Air (season 4), Grounded For Life (season 3), Laguna Beach (season 2), Noah’s Arc (season 1), Prison Break (season 1), Sealab 2021 (season 4), The Wire (season 3), Xiaolin Showdown (season 1)
Some Batman news this week. The sequel to Batman Returns will be called “The Dark Knight”. Heath Ledger has been picked to play Joker in this movie. Production will begin early next year.
Jay Leno and Kevin Smith will be substituting for Roger Ebert in the next couple of weeks on the film critic show, Ebert & Roeper. Ebert is recovering from surgery due to salivary gland cancer.
ABC has ended the show “The One” after only two weeks due to really bad ratings. The 18-49 demographic numbers were really bad drawing a 1.1 which is the lowest number ever for that demographic for a ABC series premiere. After the premiere, the ratings fell even further. This show was another music contest reality show trying to follow American Idol but this was promoted as American Idol meets Real World with behind the scenes footage and all.
MTV has picked up “The Hills” for another season of episodes.
The NBA schedule has been released for this upcoming season. Christmas will once again see a Shaq/Kobe matchup as Miami plays the Lakers. The Bulls will be in Miami on opening night as the Heat get their championship rings.
I watched this really good show on one of the Discovery Channels. Not sure which it was cause there are several different ones. It was a documentary that this guy did storm chasing. I can’t even think of the name of it now unfortunately. It was a documentary guy paired with a scientist and storm chasers. Some of the footage that they got of storms was just amazing. The person doing the documentary had 10 days to try and get this camera underneath a tornado as they wanted to record the inside of it to study. He had 10 days as his wife was about to have a baby and he had to be back for that. The time actually got cut short as the delivery was going to happen earlier than planned. So, on the last day, they didn’t get the footage but he was right there in a tornado. They had two vehicles on the road, one of which was built to handle that kind of wind so it went on ahead. Problem was that the tornado shifted course, went by them, and headed for the other vehicle that wasn’t so equipped for it. It was amazing video and at one point this barrel went flying right in front of the truck. I love watching storm chasing stuff so this show was just amazing to me especially with the storm footage that they got even just of the clouds approaching.
You Tube Video Of The Week: I realize that most everyone in the world has seen this but if you haven’t here you go. I think I was one of the last people to see it. The Evolution Of Dance
That is all for another week. Live Big Brother feed update. As of 9:20pm, only one person is out of the HOH competition. Again, I won’t say in case someone doesn’t want to be spoiled. They’re getting hit with that white stuff again though. Pretty funny. Have a great weekend!!
