Welcome to the “Will IS Big Brother All Stars” edition. Is there any doubt that this season would be completely different without him in the house?
With that said, let’s get into this week’s Big Brother. A lot went on this week since Erika won HOH. Erika put up Janelle and George for eviction. Janelle wins the veto and takes herself off. Chilltown convinces Erika to put Danielle up on the block. Danielle goes off when this happens and lets Erika know how she feels about her turning on her. Danielle is voted out by a 3-0 vote tonight. It is then announced to the houseguests that tonight was Big Brother Fast Forward. A week’s worth of events would happen tonight. Janelle wins HOH. Will pulls her aside and talks to her about what she should do for nominations. Janelle puts up Erika and George for eviction. The veto competition is held and Erika wins it. Erika takes herself off the block and Janelle puts up Boogie in her place. Boogie and George up for eviction. By a 2-0 vote, George is evicted from the Big Brother house.
As far as thoughts on the week. Danielle found out how dangerous being in an alliance with Chilltown can be. Everyone has to know that is a risky deal to make with them cause they will turn if they get the chance.
We are finding out in this game what happens when you make alliances with everyone in the house. Erika had her alliance with Danielle from the beginning but has paired up with Chilltown. Chilltown even got Erika to nominate Danielle. That was unreal. I thought for sure that one of Chilltown or George was going home when Erika won HOH. This is almost mirroring season 2 with how Will won it. Will is playing mostly the same game but the only thing is that he has Boogie in there with him for a longer time than he did in season 2. Will was in there by himself for the last half of season 2 and won it. He is basically playing the same and he is going to end up winning this game if it keeps going the way it is. Everyone kept putting off getting rid of him in season 2 and they’ve done the same thing this year. Personally, this season would not be the same without Will. I crack up laughing out loud every episode at something that he says. Some other thoughts from the week. The food competition outfits were hilarious with the bee costumes. That was a funny competition. The trampoline? Glad that they got the trampoline. It’s always fun when the houseguests get something new that they can use especially for entertainment. Two evictions in one week. Good for Danielle as she played a good game especially after almost being evicted in week one. George? Way to go George. I’m happy that he got as far as he did and he made a lot of friends along the way. I loved the stuff with Neil Patrick Harris being in the Big Brother house. It was great to see a fan of the show get to go in there. You could tell that he enjoyed the show and he was definitely the best celebrity visit ever on that show that I can remember. How great was Will’s reaction to him?
What You Missed On The Live Feeds: I watched the clips of Danielle’s meltdown. Erika definitely felt guilty after her talk to Danielle. That segment of Danielle pushing the doorbell was a lot longer than it was shown on TV. I think she stood out there for at least 10 minutes just pushing that over and over and asking Erika to let her in. Will and Erika listened inside the room for a little bit but then went in the bathroom after they couldn’t take the sound anymore. It wasn’t shown on TV but Will basically said that they weren’t letting her in cause Danielle had been drinking and he wanted the alcohol to wear off. Yes, that clip of Will talking to the camera in the backyard was very funny. This went on for about 15 minutes or so. I’ve actually got the video of it and it is worth checking out. Everyone in the back yard was getting a laugh out of it too. It actually took place when James was still in the house. There is a general feeling of sadness in the house tonight after Danielle and George left. Will said a few minutes ago how they missed George. He said that George was the nicest guy but they couldn’t have him in the final two. They are also really confused trying to figure out how much time is left in the house. It was supposed to end around the 20th. I can’t remember the exact date but it was around that time. The season was shortened but they have not been told that. Now, they have four people left and they are confused. Will messed up his thumb during the veto competition and now has a bandage on it. The HOH competition appears to be happening tonight.
Big Brother Line Of The Week: “A trampoline, Neil Patrick Harris!! What’s next? I’m going to win the show? ” Will on his big week.
There is a hurricane coming to the Big Brother sequester house. No, I’m not talking about Hurricane Howie that was booted from the Big Brother house a couple of weeks ago and sent to the sequester house. A real hurricane. Hurricane John is heading that way. I am not for sure on exactly where the sequester house is but that is what they are saying on Joker’s is that it is heading toward them. Big Brother is delivering its biggest ratings of the season in the last week. The ratings have been kind of down overall which is similar to the All Stars edition of Survivor that did lower ratings.
Here are the box office numbers for last weekend. 1. Invincible – $17 million. 2. Talladega Nights: The Ballad Of Ricky Bobby – $8 million. 3. Little Miss Sunshine – $7.5 million. 4. The ending of WB and UPN is messing with local affiliates all over the country. For example, the My Network programming on the local affiliate here, WDKA, begins on Tuesday. WDKA is our local WB channel. WDKA is also going to continue to air WB programming as far as what their schedule says on their site. The WB programming will air delayed at midnight delayed on the same night. Daytime WB programming appears to be airing at its regular time with What I Like About You and 8 Simple Rules. Weekend WB programming is kind of messed up too so look for TV schedules to make sure when shows are airing. I am assuming that our UPN channel will continue to air UPN programming until the CW Network debuts since that is the channel that is getting the CW. Wherever you are located in reading this, you may want to look into some schedules in case you have any shows that you are wanting to watch on the WB or UPN.
Can you believe the fall TV season is almost here? Here is a request. When the new fall TV season preview issue of Entertainment Weekly comes out, can someone please email me to let me know that it is out? I like to read that every year.
I didn’t watch the Emmys but I was glad to see that Julia Louis Dreyfus won an Emmy for leading actress in a comedy series. I hope this puts an end to the whole “Seinfeld curse” talk. In her acceptance speech, she had this to say “I’m not somebody who really believes in curses. But curse this, baby!” as she held up her award.
Still a lot of rumors and stories circulating about Saturday Night Live. Horatio Sanz talked last week about the stories as his name is mentioned in all the stories. He told the Chicago Sun Times that “I haven’t been approached with anything that’s led me to believe I won’t be back.” There is talk that several budget cuts are about to happen with the show which has led to the speculation of people not coming back. Until there is any confirming news, I won’t throw any other names out there as it is all rumors.
USA Today is reporting that this year’s American Idol tour is “the longest and most successful Idol tour ever”. The tour had earned $14.6 million just by August 2nd. The tour continues through September 10th.
CBS and Survivor continue to take a ton of heat over their announcement last week of separating tribes into four tribes by race. There was a rally held against the show last week with them calling for the show to be stopped. I guess some people just really don’t know that Survivor is taped months in advance. It can’t be stopped suddenly. It was wrapped months ago. The final 2 is set and votes are in on a winner. We just haven’t seen it air yet. I will be interested to see what kind of ratings this season gets with all the attention on the announcement. The show did lose a major sponsor as GM pulled its sponsorship. It didn’t have anything to do with the upcoming season announcement as GM had decided to do this months ago and it is coincidental timing.
Michael Gross, of Family Ties fame, will make an appearance on this season’s How I Met Your Mother. He will play Ted’s dad and is said to be on the third episode of the season which premieres on September 18th. If you can’t trust Dr. Will on Big Brother, trust me in that you need to check this show out.
The nominations are in for country music’s CMA Awards. Brad Paisley led the way with six nominations. The next high number of nominations were four with Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban, and Kenny Chesney getting four nominations a piece. Speaking of Carrie, Roman White who is the director of Carrie’s new video “Before He Cheats”, announced on his website that the new music video will debut “next week” on CMT. He also directed her other two videos. “Before He Cheats” sounds like it is going to be a fun video.
Voting is about to close on the Live With Regis and Kelly’s Relly Awards. This is fun every year. Go to www.rellyawards.com to vote or check out the show.
ABC Family is adding Everwood and Sabrina The Teenage Witch to its lineup in October.
It took some work but I tracked down The Wizard on DVD. People online are having trouble finding it in stores so I just went ahead and ordered it. Ah, childhood memories with this movie. I’ll have to review it after I watch it again.
