Let the Big Brother withdrawal begin!! The show concluded on Tuesday night with a one hour finale. Mike vs. Erika. The jury did for the most part vote game play instead of personal feelings. Boogie wins Big Brother All Stars on a 6-1 vote. Chilltown baby! The only vote for Erika was from Marcellas. It’s obvious that Will should have won but I am satisfied that at least one of Chilltown won this game. The episode saw the jury all get together and do their usual discussion on things that had happened in the house. I was glad to see everyone being very clear about wanting to vote for game play instead of personal feelings. Good for Danielle and Janelle being the ones to lead the push for that. Danielle spoke up immediately saying that she knew how it felt to have personal feelings effect the outcome of the game. That is what cost Danielle the game in season three. Howie said that Erika was the most deserving winner in Big Brother history? What??!! His reasoning was that Erika stuck around and stuck around cause they were too dumb to get rid of her. Ok, so does that mean that Cowboy should have won season five? Um, no. The jury questioning was tame for the most part. Danielle’s question of “you were my Jason, so why did you turn on me” to Boogie was really good and I thought Boogie’s answer was good too. He said that he would split the money with her if he only saw one “Jason” when he watched the show at home. Danielle gave a reaction of good answer. I couldn’t believe that Erika tried to take credit for Danielle’s eviction. That wasn’t her play as that was a Chilltown move. They talked her into it and she didn’t want to do it. Bringing out the other houseguests on the live show was fun as it always is. The non jury members got to tell some secrets to the sequestered jury. Kaysar told Janelle how James hadn’t been working with them. Then, they played James’ diary room stuff where he said all the bad stuff about Janelle. Ouch. His face was red as could be. Wow, I felt bad for Erika getting told on national TV how bad Boogie had played her. Then, they let Alison be the one that told her. Ouch again. Diane and Jase also confirmed for the first time on TV that they did have a secret Mr. and Mrs. Smith alliance. Several houseguests from previous seasons were there at the finale. I was really surprised to see Maggie in the crowd as I didn’t think she would come back. The fans voted the extra $25,000 prize to Janelle.
The Big Brother contestants are making their way around for interviews. First up, The Early Show interview was taped after the finale with the cast and audience still sitting there. Boogie and Erika were both interviewed. Nothing of interest really came out of the interview. Boogie, Erika, and Janelle appeared on The View. Rosie O’Donnell is a big fan of the show. She hammered Boogie for the whole interview. Fox Reality Channel’s Reality Remix featured an episode recapping the season and finale, and also interviewing some of the cast. Erika said on that show that she would have taken Janelle to the final two if she had won the HOH which I can’t say I believe. She told Boogie that she was going to take him but then decided to throw the HOH and let Boogie do the dirty work. Bunky, from season 2, did some interviews for the show. They also showed where he said early on that one of Chilltown would be in the final two and how the house keeps thinking they are no threat cause they are only two people. There are houseguests appearing on the Big Brother talk show, House Calls, on CBS.com. Marcellas has already been on there. I have not heard of any news of them doing a town hall deal like they have done in years past. Although, I don’t think they did one last year. I haven’t gotten to watch the House Calls stuff yet so I’ll watch it and tell you about it next week.
In an effort from the folks at Real Player to keep the Big Brother fans around, Real is playing the feeds over again from the beginning. Yep, 24/7 feeds from the very start. They have started and it is week one again on the feeds. Yeah, I’m going to stick around for a little bit with the feeds and watch some stuff that I might have missed. Just what I need to do is get addicted to these feeds again!! If I can make a suggestion to anyone that might want to sign up to watch the feed replays. Get the Superpass cause that is what I have. It is $15 a month BUT you get to download $10 worth of song downloads. So, you basically pay $5 for the feeds cause the songs almost pay for the whole month of Superpass.
What You Missed On The Live Feeds This Week: Nothing. ha ha. Seriously, the feeds are always boring when it comes down to the final two. Just a lot of looking back on the season and talking about the finale.
As far as looking back at the whole season, this was a lot of fun having the houseguests from previous seasons back in the house. I knew this would be a lot of fun. It was not a letdown at all. I do wonder what would have happened if some of the earlier evictees would have survived. Alison and Nakomis may have turned the house upside down. Like I said, Alison was someone I didn’t like in her season but found myself liking her this year. I would have liked to have seen Mr. and Mrs. Smith get to play out more. Chilltown. Highlight of the year. Will might be my favorite reality TV person ever. He is great TV and made it a very entertaining season. There were tense moments but a ton of fun moments. An All Stars edition was talked about for several years and this year we got it. Hopefully, fans will realize that it is all a game as there are some fans that take things way too personally with stuff that is said in the house. It’s a game in a stressed environment of being on your own inside of a house with cameras following your every move.

The new Star Wars DVD’s are in stores. The new DVD’s are of Episodes 4-6. These contain the movies as they were originally seen and also have the enhanced versions of the movies. Many fans have been furious over the original versions of the movies not being put on DVD and now they will have both versions. Several fans are going to have to double dip though that have bought the first box set release.
As expected, the next season of Seinfeld will be released on November 21st. Not expected is that the pattern isn’t the same as it has been. They have been releasing two different sets before Thanksgiving but only season 7 is announced as coming out that day. Here is the pattern that Sony started with releasing them. The first 2 sets came out the weekend before Thanksgiving followed by a one season release in May. This pattern was broken earlier this year with there being nothing released in the spring. Now, we are only getting one season before Thanksgiving. It looks like they may be slowing down on releasing the sets as they get close to having all the season sets released. This is very similar to what happened with the Friends sets as they were being released after about every 4-5 months. When we got to the last season being released, it took FOREVER. The Seinfeld set will feature the same great bonus features that are on the other sets, commentaries, stories of the making of the different episodes, bloopers, deleted scenes, and other extras. I will again say that Seinfeld is definitely the best produced TV on DVD sets. They do a lot of amazing work on these sets and give fans SO much more stuff besides the episodes. I highly recommend buying them.

The WB wraps up its programming this Sunday night with a tribute of some of its biggest shows. They will be showing the first episodes of Buffy, Angel, Dawson’s Creek, and Felicity. I am really excited to watch this even though I’ve seen every one of these. It will be a fun flashback moment. Sad too though. Buffy, Angel, and Dawson’s Creek are three of my favorite shows of all time. I also liked Felicity too but got behind on it. The first season was really good of Felicity and I really liked the first episode. Actually, the first episode of all these shows are really good!! The first episode of Angel has one of the best lines in the whole series with Cordelia running into Angel for the first time and asking “are you still all grrr (making a vampire face)” with Angel replying “yeah, there’s not really a cure for that”. The 2 hour premiere of Buffy did a great job of setting up the show and got you hooked immediately. Dawson’s Creek. Same story. Great first episode that got you hooked quickly.
These are the listings I’ve seen for here locally. This lineup may be completely different in other places so check your listings.
5:00 p.m. Angel
6:00 p.m. Buffy the Vampire Slayer (2 hours)
8:00 p.m. Dawson’s Creek
9:00 p.m. Felicity
Well, here is the news that I didn’t want to hear but would have been surprised if I didn’t hear it. The DVD releases of 90210 and Melrose Place will have music replacements. Not all of them but Paramount is saying that there will be some. This was mentioned in the magazine Home Media Retailing:
Fans of the two shows, both Aaron Spelling productions, have been eager for a DVD release since the TV DVD market exploded. But both of the popular 1990s series, especially “90210” featured notable musical hits from the era, and music clearance for DVD releases for shows such as this are fraught with costly negotiations. Like many other shows with strong pop-culture soundtracks, such as “Felicity,” some music for the episodes included on these discs will be replaced with new tracks, according to a Paramount spokesperson. That was done to prevent more delays in getting the DVD sets out, according to Paramount. The studio hired one of Spelling’s former music supervisors to help substitute some music.
Here are the TV On DVD releases for Tuesday, September 19th. 8th and Ocean (Season 1), Battlestar Gallactica (Season 2.5), The Bob Newhart Show (Season 4), Everybody Loves Raymond (Season 7), Footballers’ Wives (Season 3), Ghost Hunters (Season 2 – Part 1, Season 2 – Part 2, Best Of Season 2), Gilmore Girls (Season 6), Hart To Hart (Season 2), He-Man and The Masters Of The Universe (Season 2 – Volume 2), King Of Queens (Season 6), My Name Is Earl (Season 1), Roar (Complete Series), The Unit (Season 1)
