Here is some news that I was hoping and waiting for. Sony will release the original Transformers series on DVD. Rhino just recently lost the rights to the cartoon and Sony picked it up. Now, if you’re like me and didn’t pick up all the Rhino sets, you’ll be very happy. The Rhino sets can’t be found in stores anymore. There were many complaints on the Rhino sets anyway where they were adding sound effects and stuff to it basically doing too much adding to the original shows. Hopefully, Sony will do a much better job. Release date on these sets? No clue as of yet. The news comes from the new Transformers The Movie Anniversary DVD which has had some advance copies released. The news is on the DVD saying coming in 2007. I’ll have more on this when the news is released.
Conan O’Brien is planning an all skeleton show for his Halloween show on Tuesday night. Conan and all his guests that night will be in skeleton form.
The very addictive show Midnight Money Madness ended last week on TBS. No word on why.
NBC is rearranging its lineup for Thursday night going with a format of what used to be success for them. November 30th will see Scrubs return and 30 Rock will be moved to that night to be in the 2 hour comedy block with My Name Is Earl and The Office.
The CW picked up 7th Heaven for the entire season. CW has also ordered the remaining episodes for The Game. Now, CW needs to pick up Veronica Mars for the entire season. So far, the show is just set for 13 episodes but the ratings especially in the key demographics have been slowly building up every week. Just give it a full season order already!!
The Halloween special, It’s The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown, airs tomorrow night on ABC. A Halloween classic there. Still love it!!

Opening night of the NBA season is this Tuesday night on Halloween night on TNT. TNT will have a doubleheader of the Chicago Bulls vs. Miami Heat in Miami and the Phoenix Suns vs. LA Lakers in Los Angeles. I watched a little of a Bulls preseason game a few nights ago and it was really good seeing Ben Wallace now in a Bulls uniform.
Kristin over at E Online ran the first ever Save Your New Fave fan campaign poll. They usually do a Save Our Show campaign every year but this is the first time for one on a new show. The picks to choose from were Studio 60 On The Sunset Strip, Six Degrees, The Nine, and Men In Trees. The winner was Studio 60 with 38% of the vote. Second place was The Nine with 26%. Third place went to Men In Trees with 18%. Fourth place went to Six Degrees with 8%.
The 80’s sitcom The Hogan Family is once again airing on ABC Family. It is being shown from 7-8am weekday mornings. I’m recording it this time around cause this is a show that will show up for a few months and then disappear for 5 years. Only bad thing about ABC Family is how much they cut out of the episodes. This time period in the 80’s saw most shows go at least 25 minutes as far as without commercial time. These reruns on ABC Family? I am timing out at 21 minutes an episode without commercials. That is cutting quite a bit out of it.
I caught the tail end of a HBO Sports show talking about the Chicago Cubs. It was really good from what I saw of it. The show has interviews with various sports personalities and fans. They show the 2003 Playoffs where the Cubs got so close to the World Series. They talk about how Cubs fans are so loyal and just keep hoping for the big win. One fan actually had a deal to do a documentary style thing on the Cubs from a fan point of view but once the Cubs lost, no one talked to him about it again. He basically shot the footage from the stands. He has still done something with it anyway and it is called Chasing October. Michael Wilbon is interviewed on the HBO special about the game where everything went wrong and he is also from Chicago. He talked of how superstitious that he was during the game. He just felt like something was going to go wrong right after Bernie Mac said “champs” during take me out to the ballgame. Wilbon also said that his wife at one point walked in the room to watch the game and he made her leave. I am not a big baseball fan but am a Cubs fan. I’ve liked them since I was little. I remember the fun of that playoff series in 2003 as several of us would get together and watch the playoff games. It was so much fun. I’ll always remember that Game 6. We were all having fun thinking the Cubs were on their way to the World Series and then the collapse happened. The room was silent and so was Wrigley Field. So close to that big win.
