Kristin over at E Online is saying that she is hearing that Veronica Mars has been given an order for three more episodes. FULL SEASON CW!! Goodness, what is the deal? She is also saying that Studio 60 has been picked up for a full season by NBC.
The new Spider Man 3 movie trailer is debuting tonight all over the place. It is supposed to be 2 1/2 minutes long and should not be hard to track down on the internet to view if you missed it.
Many wondered what would happen when The O.C. returned on Fox and went head to head with shows like Grey’s Anatomy for the first time. Well, it wasn’t pretty and Fox has already moved The O.C. to Wednesday night at 8pm to test run it there. Last night, it finished basically in a tie with One Tree Hill’s ratings. Both shows are going for the same viewers.
Ratings are down on the new season of Laguna Beach. The show features a different cast of people from the first two seasons and people just don’t seem interested in it. I loved the first couple of seasons and I watched about 2 minutes of the new season the other night and just wasn’t interested at all. Bring back LC, Kristin, Jessica, and the Alex’s!! Yeah, I know they’re not coming back but I’m just making a point. ha ha.
Cartoon Network has some episodes of the new Transformers Cybertron cartoon available On Demand. I watched an episode and liked it all right. When I was watching it, I thought did they just watch the Transformers movie right before they wrote this episode? Megatron turns into Galvatron in this episode. Then, there is the line “why throw away your life so recklessly” which is a line right out of the movie!! I kind of had to laugh at that.
CBS has announced that they are going to have the unaired episodes of the canceled show Smith available to watch on CBS.com. There are four unaired episodes available for any of you that might have started watching that show.
TV Guide has their section called Cheers and Jeers. Well, here is a jeer to TV Guide. Why did you put a huge Gilmore Girls spoiler on the cover of the magazine??!! This spoiler appeared on the cover 2 or 3 weeks ago and it really ruined the next several episodes for me cause it was such a huge twist. I won’t ruin it for anyone that doesn’t know. Entertainment Weekly had a write up on Gilmore talking about how the new writers seem to try too hard sometimes but that Paris is still going strong. I agree with that. Paris is still as fun as ever and one of the best characters on TV in my opinion. The show does have a very different feeling this year overall and just doesn’t seem to have that punch that it did with the Palladinos in charge. I still enjoy it but it just isn’t the same show that it was.
The 90210 and Melrose Place first season DVD box sets are now in stores. I don’t know if I’ll buy Melrose Place’s first season cause that show didn’t really get good until season 2 for me anyway. Music changes on both sets. I am hearing mixed reviews on the changes. A lot of the replacements are for parts of the show that I haven’t even thought about it. They are Peach Pit scenes where there are oldies playing on the jukebox. I don’t know why I haven’t even thought about that. I was thinking more about the modern music that was playing for certain scenes. One scene has had the original music changed on the slumber party episode where the girls are lip syncing to a song but the song they’re singing is supposed to be missing. I’m still waiting on hearing more on the music before I buy it. It’s great to see these shows get DVD releases. I grew up watching 90210 so that show brings back a lot of memories. For me, the music replacement stuff is really going to kick in with the next couple of seasons as I remember more of the music that matches up with episodes with the other high school seasons of the show. Remember “Losing My Religion” later on in the seasons. That song has to be in there. Remember Sophie B. Hawkins playing with Dylan and Kelly on the beach together shortly after they got together. Several songs in the graduation episode needs to be intact too. Yeah, I’m a nerd for remembering that stuff!! ha ha. That will be a BIG factor on whether I buy future seasons but I’m still reading reviews on this first season. Keep in mind also that in later seasons of both shows, the credits would run showing outdoor scenery with a current song. I can’t see those staying intact. Maybe and hopefully I’ll be wrong. For now, I’m still undecided on whether to buy.
David and Mary were eliminated off of The Amazing Race last week. They sure were a hit with fans cause they have been the only team to make a ton of media appearances so far including Regis and Kelly and The View. On The View, Rosie O’Donnell presented the two of them with a brand new house and a brand new car. This season has seen more alliance strategy than any other season. Alliances are all good and all but sometime you have to start looking out for yourself. I just hope that doesn’t cost the Cho brothers the race with them having to slow down for their alliance teams at times.
The sixth season of American Idol will kick off on January 16th with back to back nights of 2 hour episodes. In other Idol news, Variety is reporting that Fox is developing a sitcom based on Kellie Pickler and Kellie will star in it. Variety had this about what the show would be about as Kellie will play a naive small-town Southern girl, a character based on herself who discovers that her biological father is the state’s well-respected governor. His presidential dreams are put in jeopardy, but the two form a father-daughter relationship that winds up helping his standing in the polls.î Huge win for Carrie Underwood at the CMA Awards. She won Best Female Vocalist Of The Year. Go Carrie.
Joey Lawrence was voted off Dancing With The Stars this week. The final two is going to be Mario Lopez vs. Emmitt Smith in the final.
This new season of TV has been really odd cause it seems that the shows that everyone was picking to be hits just haven’t caught on with viewers. The ones that are the big hits weren’t predicted to be. Heroes has been the breakaway hit and appears on the cover of this week’s Entertainment Weekly.
