Let American Idol begin. The final 12 is set and the competition is underway. Four were eliminated tonight to form the final 12 and it is bound to stir conversation with who stayed and who left. Going home were Antonella Barba, Sabrina Sloan, Jarrod Cotter, and Sundance Head. I didn’t do so well with my picks from last week as I only predicted one of the four. Here are your final 12 Idol contestants: Blake Lewis, LaKisha Jones, Chris Sligh, Jordin Sparks, Phil Stacey, Melinda Doolittle, Brandon Rogers, Gina Glocksen, Chris Richardson, Stephanie Edwards, Haley Scarnato and Sanjaya Malakar. Wow, I’m not sure what to say here. There were two that definitely deserved to go home and two that didn’t. Antonella just couldn’t keep up with the other strong voices and I thought she should have went home last week. Also, speaking on performance I would have voted off Haley Scarnato. Haley is likable but she is up against some strong voices from the women. Speaking of strong voices, what is up with Sabrina going home? I didn’t see that coming. It shouldn’t have happened either. With the guys, it was pretty much wide open on who should have went home. I have been very unimpressed with the guys as an overall. I have three that I think are good but the others just aren’t that strong vocally. I have found the guys’ performance shows boring for the most part although I do like Blake Lewis, Chris Sligh, and Phil Stacey. Sundance was a bummer to see go home. With the great audition that he gave, I never would have guessed he wouldn’t make the top 12. I tend to think that what cost him was that struggle in Hollywood week and then the early rounds. He should have stayed in though. I still have several different ones that I like but here are my favorites so far:
Gina Glocksen, Melinda Doolittle, Chris Sligh, Jordin Sparks, and Blake Lewis. I don’t really have a front runner but those are the ones that have stood out for me. It was great to see Carrie Underwood back on the Idol stage tonight as she performed her new single “Wasted”. Great performance!!

I figured that I would go a different route with the movie review this week. First, I want to say that it takes a LOT for me to dislike a movie but the one I’m about to talk about is one of them. The movie is called Cabin Fever. This is one of those experiences with a movie where you are about to go to sleep and end up getting caught up in something on TV. I was about to go to sleep and ended up watching Cabin Fever. The plot revolves around a group of teenagers that rent a cabin out in the woods. Some of them run into this man in the woods who apparently has some kind of virus that is killing him. Now, this has been a while since I watched it so I apologize if I get some things wrong. From what I remember, they shoot the guy cause they know something is fatally wrong with him. He falls in the river which gets the disease in the water. This contaminates the water that they were drinking. So, the rest of the movie sees the group catching the disease one by one and turning on each other as they don’t want the virus to continue to spread. They try to get help but can’t take anyone anywhere cause they’ll catch it too by contact. The group kept dieing one by one and I believe it came down to only one at the end who had survived. He gets to the town and it just ends really lame. We don’t find out anything of what the disease is, if he survives, what is done about it, nothing. I don’t know why I kept watching this movie cause I normally can’t get into these type of movies but I just had to see how this turned out. The only thing that I could think of when I finished watching this movie was that there is an hour of sleep that I would like to have back. This was a BAD movie and I say definitely skip that one.
Gilmore Update. Rory and Logan have been on the rocks for the last couple of episodes. Logan lost all his money and several others’ money in a bad business deal. He has been recuperating by going and partying in Vegas with his friends. Rory finally got sick of it and ignored him basically until he decided to try and get back on the right track. She actually agreed with Logan’s dad on his behavior which has to be a first. We have not seen Christopher in several episodes. Lorelei and Rory took a road trip to Charlotte for Mia’s wedding. Mia was the woman that basically took in Lorelei and gave her a job after she ran away from her parents with a little Rory. They have been close ever since. Emily ended up tagging along and the situation was uncomfortable cause Mia was like a mother to Lorelei and grandmother to Rory when Emily wasn’t around. Emily missed out on a lot in that time and Mia has all the memories of Lorelei and Rory from that era. Lane has had her baby and they named Luke the godfather.
Going home this week on The Amazing Race was David and Mary. 1st place Rob and Amber. If I would have went with my gut instinct, I would be 2 for 2 on my game picks this week. I had David and Mary going home but picked Dustin and Kandice to finish 1st. Yeah, I didn’t think Rob and Amber would go 3 for 3. Looking back at my predictions I made a few weeks ago, I’ve got Oswald and Danny going home next.
ABC has pulled The Knights Of Prosperity from their schedule. The show has not done well in the ratings.
Several media outlets are reporting that Daniel Radcliffe has signed on to do more of the Harry Potter films.
