I seem to say this every week but on to the CRAZY week in the Big Brother house. Funny thing is that things were very civil in the house for several days until the day of the veto ceremony. Let’s go ahead and set things up for how things played out on TV and then I’ll add some details of things that were off of the show in the Live Feeds section of my Big Brother discussion. Daniele won HOH last week. The celebration was on between Daniele, Dick, Eric, and Jessica. Amber and Jameka realized very quickly that their game had been turned upside down realizing a deal had to have been made between the four. They were upset over Dustin being voted out especially with how he was blindsided. It does appear that Jameka was told before the live show by Jessica that Dustin was going home so she did know. Daniele nominated Jameka and Amber for eviction but the target was neither of them for eviction. The veto competition was held which saw Daniele win the veto. The veto winner and the second place finisher also got to win a luxury which was a surprise trip out of the Big Brother house. Amber was the second place finisher. Amber talked to Jameka about trying to work a deal with Daniele. She did indeed do that. Amber was promising all kinds of things for a deal which Daniele wasn’t even going to ask for. They made a deal for Daniele to take Amber off the block and the veto ceremony was held later on. Daniele used the veto on Amber and took her off the block. Daniele then nominated Jen to go up against Jameka. This is when the civil part of the week ended. Jen realized that she was being backdoored and knew she was going home. Dick and Jen continued to clash. Daniele and Amber left on their trip which was later revealed to be a chance to win money on the CBS show, Power Of 10. We still have yet to figure out how they did as they have been told not to talk about it to the other houseguests. While they were gone was when everything went wild. Jen decided to hide all of her stuff around random parts of the house as she went for Dick’s cigarettes. She grabbed all three or four of his cartons of cigarettes that he had. She took them in the storage room and trashed them. Then, she poured bleach all over them. She then was called to the diary room immediately actually while she was doing this. Jessica had seen Jen hiding her stuff and mentioned it to Dick. They thought that she might be ready to do something but she had also been teasing about walking out early. Dick went to check his cigarettes and noticed that they were gone. He knew immediately that Jen had them. What was not shown is that Big Brother had replaced Dick’s cigarettes which made Jen mad. At this point too, he was on his way to the HOH room with Jen’s stuff and locked them in the HOH. Jen immediately went to the diary room furious that they had replaced the cigarettes. Her feelings were that she did that to make a point and they replaced them so she lost her clothes while he lost nothing. She also said that she had been told previously before entering the house that this would be ok to do. This was when she went to the food although, if I remember right, she had been teasing that she was going to eat before this. If you remember, she was on a 30 day food restriction due to the stipulations in the veto competition a couple of weeks ago. She finally snapped and went into the backyard carrying food. Apple in one hand and a turkey burger in the other. She said she was now going to “perform eating”. The houseguests tried to talk her out of it but she went ahead and began eating. Dick eventually came out there and blew smoke in her face as he sat down. She snapped and said that she didn’t like smoke being blown in her face especially when she is eating. She kept trying to grab the cigarette and ended up burning herself several times. The two came face to face and Jameka finally stepped in and grabbed Jen to break up the situation. The houseguests were incredibly uncomfortable watching this whole thing happen. Jen continued to eat the rest of the night. She was called to the diary room where they told her that they’d deal with the penalty tomorrow. The decision was made that she would get an eviction vote against her and one thing that was not mentioned on the show was that she also would be put on the block next week as well for a penalty nomination. This led us to tonight’s show. She already had a penalty vote against her and the rest of the house voted her out as well. Jen was voted out on a 6-0 vote. She made a comment to Daniele of “thanks for having my back”. I was actually surprised that the houseguests were nice to her on the way out as there had been talk of not being. Dick did not go to the door and actually disappeared. Jen made more comments on the way out. Next was the HOH competition which saw the houseguests asked questions on what previously evicted houseguests had to say about them. They all set on a dunk tank and if you got the question wrong, in to the water you go. Jameka had to sit out once again due to her HOH restrictions due to the veto competition from a couple of weeks ago. Jen actually was able to hit the button and do the dunk tank from the studio. It came down to Jessica and Dick. Jessica gets the last question correct and she is HOH for the second time. Yeah!!!! Booyah. Go Jessica. Jessica becomes the second houseguest to win two HOH’s this week. The order of the last four HOH’s has been Daniele, Jessica, Daniele, Jessica.
What Has Happened Since The Live Show Ended: I’ll add to this paragraph as I continue watching the feeds. Hey, the feeds were back on within 30 seconds of the credits rolling. WOW. I couldn’t believe how fast it was. More celebration of Jessica winning. Talk of Jen’s exit saying that it was a classy exit as they expected obviously being sarcastic. They then all ate dinner and talking about the questions in the HOH competition. Amber is already talking about sleeping in the HOH room. The majority of Jokers appears to be targeting Amber for the America’s Player vote on who to get nominated. Waiting for Jessica to get her HOH room. Jameka is ready for the food to arrive so she can finally have some real food. Talk has went to various reality show discussion. Pretty funny discussion about reality shows. They are now discussing who had the most embarrassing exit in Big Brother history. Dick brought up Jase last season when he found out he was being backdoored. Daniele brought up Howie last season. Jessica just got her HOH room. One of the things that she got was a pink Booyah t-shirt which everyone loves!! Her HOH CD is of Carrie Underwood. She also got a support the troops thing that was for her brother who is serving overseas in the military in case you didn’t know and a WSU hat. Jessica did awesome with her HOH gifts. She had a picture of her and one of her best friends on the wall. It is a picture from Jessica’s 21st birthday party. Zach: “were you drunk in that picture?” Jessica: “OH YEAH”. LOL.
What You Missed On The Live Feeds: Now, I’ll try and add some things about stuff not seen on TV including details of the Jen/Dick incident that were left off of the show. I’m going to go in order of events of the week with other stuff that has happened. Late Saturday night into Sunday morning was the night of Eric and Jessica. The two stayed up with the group hanging out. The others all went to bed but they stayed awake talking in the back yard. Dick woke up for a little bit and went out talking to them for a little bit and went back to bed. The conversation was very fun between the two and it’s really nice how much they enjoy hanging out with one another. They were joking all night with the houseguests and have for a little while now about CBS doing their wedding and what role the houseguests would play in it. Eric said that it would be bigger than Rob and Amber’s. Jessica replied with “who’s Rob and Amber?”. LOL. I figured everyone knew who they were. They got into a conversation for a while doing hypothetical questions about what each other’s thoughts were on relationships. Different situations in life that were either ok or not ok for their boyfriend/girlfriend to do. It was funny with Eric pointing out that she got a lot more perks out of the relationship than he did. He would ask what kind of perks that he gets out of it and she’d say “you get me”. They also did a deal where they would ask the other that if they were dating, what would stuff would make the other person mad. When I woke up for the day which was 7:30am Big Brother time, they were starting to wear down but still having a good time. Eric then asked Jessica if she thought there were people that had stayed up and watched them talk for the entire five hours that they had been outside. They both agreed that there probably was. Eric then said thank you to all of the viewers that cared enough to watch them for the entire time and that they appreciated it. He said to stay tuned for their spinoff “we aren’t in Kansas anymore”. LOL. They then headed off to bed at about 7:45am Big Brother time. I really like those two. I had to check out Jokers to see what everyone was saying and there were several people staying up watching the two of them. Funny thing was several people were waking up for the morning and saying hello to the ones that were still awake. Several were jumping in with comments of “kiss her already”. LOL!! One of the favorite games in the Big Brother house has become true or false. This usually involves Jessica, Eric, Jameka, and Jen. Each person will make a statement about something in their life or sometimes someone else and the others will have to decide if it is a true statement or something they’re making up. I don’t know why I found this so entertaining but it was just a fun game that they did for a while on Saturday night. I actually got annoyed when they would switch feeds away from it only to come back to it a couple of minutes later. Sunday night saw Daniele get an early birthday celebration. Her 22nd, I mean 21st birthday. You may remember that she told all of the houseguests that she was already 21 cause she didn’t want them to think she was younger. Big Brother locked the houseguests outside and then were let inside to see decorations and a cake for Daniele. They didn’t know if the people on slop could eat or not. Eric told them to go ahead saying what are they going to do, throw you out? Then we got FOTH. I laughed at that knowing nope you can’t eat and we’re going to tell you while we have this FOTH up. Daniele’s mood was great outside but as the birthday went along, her mood went way down. She had gotten some stuff from family and friends. She got really quiet and just seemed sad. Dick told Jessica a few minutes later that he thought she is having a tough time not getting anything from her boyfriend for her HOH pictures or anything from him for her birthday. Dick said that he can’t say he blames him cause he probably saw all of the stuff with Nick. I’m not sure what was wrong with Daniele but that was the speculation and also my guess as well. Dick asked Jessica if he could talk to her at some point and just give her a girl to talk to about stuff. Dick went to Daniele and tried to see what was wrong with her but she wouldn’t talk to him. Funny comments from Eric talking to Jessica about Survivor. Eric said that if he was on that show and he found out that he was going to get flipped on and voted out. He would destroy the camp and then throw all the food in the ocean. He told a lot of the group this too which had everyone cracking up laughing including me watching. One thing that was not shown after the Amber/Daniele deal was made was that Daniele asked Amber to not tell anyone about their deal. Amber went immediately to Jameka and basically told her everything that they discussed. Jameka wasn’t too happy either about it. The cigarette incident with Dick and Jen was wild to watch. I was laying on the couch and just had the feeds on the in the background. I looked up at the quad cam and noticed Jen doing something and then ran to the computer wondering what is she doing. She had Dick’s cigarettes. She destroyed four cartons of his cigarettes and then poured bleach all over them in the garbage can in the storage room. Big Brother called her immediately to the diary room. Dick eventually found out that his cigarettes were gone and he was not happy. He went out and told the houseguests that they were gone. Eric told Dick to at least give them advance warning if he was bringing out the pots and pans. We got FOTH and then the feeds came back with Dick saying that he heard the producers say hiding is fine but destroying is not. He asked if that is what happened and some guy whispered “don’t tell him”. Dick then went on a search of the house searching for his cigarettes. Jessica then said “well, no alcohol for us tonight”. Jen returned and it was a nervous feeling waiting for them to see each other. Dick at this time thought they were just hidden. Dick went and got all of Jen’s clothes that he could find and locked them in the HOH. He put the rest of his stuff up in the HOH as well. Here comes the kicker. He goes into the storage room and finds three cartons of cigarettes not messed with. Big Brother replaced them. Jen was furious over this and went immediately to the diary room. We heard her sit down on the couch and make a comment of frustration to the people in the DR. Zach was in the shower and missed the whole thing. LOL. He had to be filled in on what happened. Jen went to the backyard with food in hand. Jameka told Jen not to do it but it was too late, she was eating. Jen was crying and said that she asked before she came on the show if she was allowed to destroy cigarettes and she was told yes. She continued eating. This was her way of getting even apparently. Dick eventually made his way back out saying how stupid she was especially when he had gotten his cigarettes back. He blew smoke in her face as he sat down. Jen got up yelling at him that she is eating and to not do that. She kind of shoved him off and we got FOTH. I’m thinking uh oh. The feeds came back and Jen had retreated to the bathroom. Dick yelled out in the backyard at 11:19pm, “it’s on Showtime”. NO DOUBT. This is referring to the Big Brother After Dark show on Showtime which Eric pointed out that “it only took 2 months but there is finally a good After Dark show”. He then joked about how it was going to be hard to fill Amber and Daniele in on everything that they have missed. Eric said “We’re on a mystery vacation right now as well.” Jen returned a few minutes later and the two ended up having all kinds of words but Jen contended that she was crying about that they did the cigarette thing to her with replacing them. Eric and Jessica were in the hot tub as this exchange happened and Eric joked saying that he’s never going to get any TV time with these psychotic people. Jameka just sat on the couch as the battling went back and forth. The houseguests all seemed to have the same opinion on the cigarette burning deal saying that she kept touching it. Daniele and Amber arrived back the next night and a house meeting was held where they were told about everything that had happened. They were trying their best to catch up on everything. Dick and Eric instigated the conversation explaining what happened. The shock turned to anger with Amber going off on Jen especially with how down Jameka is cause it could have cost her going home and she is also on slop. Basically talking about a penalty nom next week could make people want to keep Jen around cause they know she has to go up next week. Everyone was furious at Jen for ignoring the rules of the game. Eric, Amber, and Dick all hammered her for the most part. Wednesday saw the houseguests basically ignore Jen. Daniele made Dick get all of Jen’s stuff out of the HOH room cause she said that this was a Dick/Jen incident and didn’t want to be involved. Dick went and threw her stuff out in a container in the back yard. Jen eventually found her stuff and Dick told her that if she touched his stuff again that he’d get her stuff again and throw it on the roof. The houseguests blew her off all day and wouldn’t take pictures of her for the HOH pictures. Jen then had an incident where her bikini top exploded in the kitchen. She had her back to everyone when it happened but she had to cover up. Everyone immediately was wondering if it was intentional. The looks on the faces of the houseguests was funny when this happened with Daniele just having this look of “are you kidding me” to Eric signaling that he just wanted to bang his head into the table. Interesting moment where Zach defended Jen to Dick saying that Dick may have instigated the whole thing. This led to a little blowup between the two in the backyard but they apologized to each other about an hour later for the deal. Jen has also been threatening all week saying that Big Brother will have to pay her a lot of money to go to the sequester house. Umm, I’m pretty sure that is in the contract and she’ll have to pay them if she doesn’t go. LOL.

Kristen Bell, of Veronica Mars fame, has been cast to have a multiple episode storyline on this season of Heroes. YESSS!!!! I loved that news and let out a big cheer when I read it. Michael Ausiello got an interview with Kristen where she talked about joining Heroes for what she says will be 13 episodes. She had this to say on Heroes and also why she turned down the Lost role. “Obviously, I was in an extremely lucky position. I’ve kind of felt like I’ve been on a sugar high the last couple of weeks. Having any of those options it still feels surreal. How do you make the decision between [Lost and Heroes]? Basically, being able to stay in [Los Angeles] was a little bit of a factor for me [in terms of turning down Lost]. But I was honored to even be considered by Lost. I really, really was, because I love that show. But I have social relationships with a lot of the people who work on Heroes, through so many random connections. It was sort of funny that so many of my friends had been working on this show. I spent a lot of time with a few of them at Comic-Con. I was actually sitting on the train [back from San Diego] with Zachary Quinto and Masi Oka, and some of the writers were on the train and they were like, “Hey, if you ever want to come on Heroes, give us a call!” And I sort of joked back, “I’d love that!” Later on I said to Zach, “Hey, if they were serious, I would love to work with you guys.” And somehow, somebody made it happen.” He took the time to also ask her about the ending of Veronica Mars to which she said, “I’m definitely still in mourning. I miss the character, I miss the people, I miss the consistency of that family. Lots of mass e-mails is how we’re all dealing with it. We’re all still in touch. Everyone is moving on up and doing great things, but we’re all still communicating. I just had lunch with Dan Etheridge, who was sort of our physical producer [down in San Diego]. Everyone’s really sad.” When asked about the possibility of whether she’d be interested in doing a Veronica Mars movie, she said: “Oh, absolutely. I’d do anything Rob (Thomas) asked me. I think we’d all love to work together again. Before we left we were like, “OK, I guess our only option now to keep it alive is somebody’s got to write a feature!” We definitely all agreed that we would want to be involved in it.” He also asked what she thought of the Veronica Mars finale and she said: “I kind of feel like the way they left it open was the perfect wrap-up to the show. Because had they sealed it in a nice clean box, that’s not what the show is about. The show was not about satisfying the viewers. The show was hard to follow, the show was really witty, the show was really sassy, it was for intelligent people. So I think it was wrapped up really nicely. That being said, I knew some things that were going to happen in Season 4 that I’m not going to dare say, ’cause that’s probably what the movie is going to be about.”
High School Musical 2 shredded all kinds of cable ratings with its premiere on Friday night. It drew 17.2 million viewers making it the highest watched cable telecast EVER which topped a Monday Night Football game from 2006. It was also TV’s most watched Friday telecast in five years. It was also basic cable’s most watched TV movie ever in total viewers beating the previous record holder by 38%. WOW is all that can be said. They’d be crazy not to try and do a third with the following of fans they have for these movies. Disney shows that followed HSM2 also got a big ratings bump from viewers sticking around after the movie. A preview of the new Disney series Phineas and Ferb got 10.8 million viewers making it Disney’s second highest audience ever. After that, Hannah Montana had a huge audience as well drawing 10.7 million viewers making it the third highest audience ever for Disney also making it basic cable’s most watched series telecast ever. Disney Channel has to be jumping up and down in celebration with those kind of numbers. Not a bad Friday night for them all!!
The sequel to Batman Begins has been shooting in Chicago over recent months and it is funny to the lengths that they are going to keep things secret about it. The Batman sequel which has been named “The Dark Knight” has gotten all kinds of attention from people in the city. When crew working on the movie are asked about what movie they are shooting, they reply “Rory’s First Kiss”. They also put that title on the signs around the area. It’s a way that they are trying to throw fans and photographers off on them not thinking it is Batman but just about everyone has found out the secret name. They are very serious about not letting parts of the story get leaked out. The Chicago Film Office spokesman, Rich Moskal, has said that the secrecy going on with this has hardly any kind of comparison to any other movies that have been shot in Chicago.
More and more studios are beginning to pick sides on the high definition DVD battle between HD-DVD and Blu-ray. Paramount and Dreamworks Animation have dropped Blu-ray and are going to produce titles exclusively in HD-DVD format. Blu-ray made a big play when Blockbuster announced that they would exclusively carry Blu-ray. It really is the modern day version of the battle between VHS and BETA.
MTV, Real Networks, and Verizon are combining together to try and compete against iTunes. The new music service will be called Rhapsody America.

Last week, Seacrest was named as the host for the pre show and halftime activities of the 2008 Super Bowl which will also air on Fox. Seriously, when does this guy have any down time? He works more than anyone I think I’ve seen in Hollywood. Good for him as I think he does a great job.
The Daily Show With Jon Stewart has been doing live reports from Iraq this week on the show with Rob Riggle doing the reports.
The new Nickelback music video for “Rock Star” is very cool. They went with a concept of having celebrities lip syncing the song. I really like the concept and it turned out great.
Speaking of music videos, someone needs a raise for whoever is coming up with the concepts on Brad Paisley’s videos. He has some of the most entertaining music videos to watch including his new one, “Online”. The concept and song goes with how people always make themselves sound cooler online whether it is changing their profile pictures or changing what they do for a living instead of what they really are. The music video stars Jason Alexander who takes on Brad’s personality on his online profile and daydreams about being a singer. The music video features a ton of star cameos. For Seinfeld fans, we have Mrs. Constanza and also Puddy. Also in the video is William Shatner, Maureen McCormick, and on the stage performance portion of the video we have back up dancers of Kellie Pickler and Taylor Swift. Just a fun, fun video!!
If anyone is needing Buffy or Angel DVD sets, this is a good week to go for it. Best Buy is advertising a sale on all seven seasons of Buffy and all five seasons of Angel. Each season is selling for $15.99. That is a hot deal there. The sale runs through Saturday.
This season’s American Idol winner, Jordin Sparks, has signed a deal with Jive Records. Her album is set for a November release while her new single, “Tattoo”, will be released to radio on August 27th.
Transformers is featured in the new Goo Goo Dolls video of “Before It’s Too Late” featured on the Transformers soundtrack. That is nice to see as songs from soundtrack albums don’t feature movie clips on the music videos like they used to. Speaking of Transformers, is it time for that movie to come out on DVD yet? LOL. Hurry up already!!
I’m sure some of you will remember the show American Gladiators from over a decade ago. Well, it is coming back. NBC has worked out a deal to do new episodes of the show in the future in primetime. A midseason launch appears to be the talk. If you’re a fan of the old version of the show, check out ESPN Classic as they air old episodes of the show quite a bit here lately.

A MLB record was set on Wednesday with Texas winning a game 30 to 3 over Baltimore. 30 runs is the most runs scored by one team since 1900. WOW. Funny thing is that Baltimore actually led 3-0 at the beginning of the game but Texas scored 30 straight runs.
