At Galaxy Con Raleigh 2025, Brian Austin Green discussed what happened on why The Sarah Connor Chronicles going shorter than they wanted it to with the show being cancelled.
“So the first season. In the middle of it, we dealt with the writer strike which kind of ended that season abruptly. We then came back in the second one and the show was before streaming so and it was a very serialized show. So, if you missed the prior episode, you really had no idea what was going on. And so we would try and have these recaps in the beginning, last week on the show, and you know, we’d show 30 seconds of we try and sum up what happened in 30 seconds, but it just wasn’t enough. The show was really smart. Josh Friedman, the writer and creator, is incredibly intelligent. He wrote War of the Worlds with Tom Cruise. He wrote The Black Dahlia. He’s this unbelievable writer. So I think at a certain point our numbers just continued to decline because people would miss episodes in life. You didn’t have the opportunity to look back on them or binge the way we do now to watch shows. I think it would have been a completely different situation at this point.“
