I really loved tonight’s Amazing Race episode with the Big Brother teams battling through travel issues, battles with heights, memory challenges, and more. Just a fun episode all around that kept me glued to it. Teams started off getting tickets for a train to get to Prague. And it all goes to chaos quickly. 8 teams get on one train and all together. Three teams are on another train. Matt and Megan are traveling solo as they are behind all the other teams. The first eight teams get off at their stop and immediately are confused not finding where they are going. The problem? They all got off at the wrong stop and got off of the train too early. So those eight teams scramble to find ways to get to their original destination. Jag and Jas, Joseph and Adam, and Natalie and Stephanie all end up together and buy new tickets. They end up working together and forming a bit of an alliance. We next see Angela and Lexi, Taylor and Kyland, and Kat and Alex in trouble as their train isn’t showing up. Their reason? It got canceled so now they need a new plan as well. They get on their new train and end up on the same train as Matt and Megan so now they’ve caught up to some teams and are back in the mix.
Let’s discuss the journey of these three teams as Jag and Jas, Joseph and Adam, and Natalie and Stephanie all get to the first task which is walking across a high beam. Adam struggles big with this with his fear of heights but he rocks it and overcomes it. Jag just zooms across it. Stephanie also does awesome overcoming her heights fear. These three teams move on to the detour which is choosing either delivering glasses around town or going in a restaurant and looking at crests with having to memorize them while also learning how to pronounce them. They choose to deliver the glasses. Jag and Jas get way ahead of the other two teams and finish the task. Joseph, Adam, Natalie, and Stephanie all work together and also get some help from Jag and Jas who see them on the street with giving them the directions of where to go and what street to stay on. The two teams finish their task as well and move on to the pit stop. Jag and Jas arrive first. Later, Joseph, Adam, Natalie, and Stephanie all arrive as well with this alliance of three teams all finishing top three for this leg of the race.
The other teams go across the heights task and the drama is between Matt and Lexi as they are the last two to go across and struggling with fear of heights. Can I just add too how this task gave me such anxiety? I said it’s one thing to walk across that thing but another to get to the end and have to shift your body down to lean down and pick up that clue. That would freak me out with adjusting my body while in that panic situation.
We have some drama with Tucker and Eric when they find the clue box that is the one that sends you to Phil. They say wow, this leg was way easier than we thought. Well, there is a reason for that when they get to Phil and he informs them that they are 4th but they didn’t complete the previous task. So, they have to roam back and complete the detour. Most of the other teams choose to do the memorizing part of the detour. They all roam this restaurant seeing these crests on the back of the chairs and asking the people sitting at the tables of how to pronounce them. I thought this was very fun with how it played out. Hannah and Simone immediately choose this detour saying how they’ll always choose memory things cause they’re good at things involving memory. They go up and knock it out on their second attempt. Woo hoo! Tucker and Eric finish it off as well and are on their way back to where they were previously. They even stop for ice cream and still roam back to the pit stop to continue to finish in 4th where they were before they realized they skipped the detour. Back in the restaurant, Izzy and Paige knock it out doing awesome as so Chelsie and Jack. The drama turns with Rubina and Kristine getting hung up on one that they can’t get right. It was a crest that looked very similar to another one. They get it and they’re out of there. Now we’re down to the four teams in the back looking to avoid elimination. Taylor and Kyland are the only ones of the four that decide to go for delivering the glasses. They get that completed with no issues. We now have Angela and Lexi, Matt and Megan, and Kat and Alex battling it out in the restaurant. Kat and Alex are the first of the group to finish and leave. That leaves the other two teams and it’s down to the wire with them. Angela and Lexi finish first but Matt and Megan finish right behind them and they are seen outside the restaurant leaving at the same time so it’s clear we’ve got a foot race to the pit stop now. Matt and Megan get to the mat first and avoid elimination. That means that being eliminated on this leg of the race was Angela and Lexi.
