The story of this week’s Amazing Race centered around the Double U-Turn being put into the race as the teams went to Croatia.
Tucker and Eric were the first team to arrive at the U-Turn and they decided to not use it saying they are at the front of the pack and didn’t want to put a bigger target on themselves. However, the next teams to arrive are the alliance teams so Jag and Jas decide to U-Turn Izzy and Paige. Joseph and Adam then decide to U-Turn Rubina and Kristine saying they are doing it to give Izzy and Paige a fair chance. They also wanted to help Hannah and Simone. The Double U-Turn means that teams have to go back and complete the other half of the detour. The U-Turned teams obviously weren’t happy with Izzy getting the double finger to Jag and Jas’s pictures on the U-Turn board. LOL.
At the top of the board, Tucker and Eric ended up finishing first for this leg of the race. They do overhear Kyland and Taylor running by talking about targeting the all male teams after the results of the U-Turn. That is relayed to Jag and Jas. Taylor and Kyland continue their awesome march to the top of the standings finishing second on this leg of the race. They have really had quite the performance in the last two episodes so they are really clicking.
Everything comes to a head on who will be eliminated on this leg of the race at the roadblock where one member of each team had to put together a cart and then race it down a luge street course to complete it in under 36 seconds. Natalie struggles here getting her cart together where she couldn’t figure out what she was doing wrong with getting it together. She finally completes it. Chelsie is on the struggle bus here having all sorts of trouble completing the course. It comes down to Chelsie, Paige, Kristine, and Simone all lining up knowing that any of these four could be eliminated and all of them are battling for survival. Chelsie finally gets her completed as does Paige. That leaves just a heartbreaking battle between Kristine and Simone with them knowing whichever one of them finishes last of the two will end up eliminated. Kristine breaks down in tears. She completes it and that means it’s Simone on her own. Simone ends up in tears which got Hannah in tears and had me teary watching here at home. Hannah at this point had made her way down below to the finish line cheering on her sister. I just loved this bond of the two sisters cause they knew they were eliminated but it was about the cheering of completing this task with Hannah cheering her on at every step. Simone finishes with big cheers but they sadly go to the pit stop where they do get eliminated from the race. I was so sad to see them go as I’ve been Team Hannah and Simone in this race. I’m so proud of them for how they did in this race and did right down to the end! So this means that none of the U-Turned teams were eliminated so we have two angry teams ready for revenge in the next leg of the race. It will be interesting to see how it plays out!
