I said last week how I just found last week’s Amazing Race episode to be mostly dull but I found this week’s episode to be the complete opposite. Very entertained by this week’s episode with some fun tasks, funny things, and some competition. Last week, we lost Rubina and Kristine and I have to speak on this for a second with the Tucker reaction in this episode to learning his girlfriend had been eliminated with such an oh well attitude. His reaction was well, my priority is my brother in this race. I get that obviously cause he’s your brother and also your teammate here. Geez though. If my girlfriend had been eliminated, I know I’d shown more of a reaction to it.
Teams were off to Romania for this leg of the race. The bummer of this is we again split the teams up with a big time separation. We had two flights set to go with about five hours difference in between. That has been one of the biggest problems of the race this season is that we keep separating these teams with such a large gap that it’s basically like a tale of two races. The teams up in the top competing against one another. Then the ones in the back who are scrambling to avoid elimination with battling hope to climb to the top group to get to compete against them. This happened at the airport as teams arrived. We see an immediate problem with The Trainwreck Alliance as Natalie and Stephanie talk of Joseph and Adam cutting line in front of them to which the guys apologize but say this is a race and trying to advance. This is coming off the last leg where Natalie tried waiting on them to their own disadvantage to which Stephanie was telling her that we can’t keep doing this stuff to where it’s making us backtrack instead of going forward. Now, Tucker & Eric, Jag & Jas, and Joseph & Adam are all on the same flight. This moves Natalie and Stephanie into the back of the pack where Natalie notices immediately that they’re in trouble here. Foreshadowing. They’ll be on the same flight with Izzy & Paige and Chelsie & Jack. Teams arrive at their next task which is going to be bungee jumping. We have a twist here where this doesn’t open up until the next morning. We’ll have teams all evened up once again. This also says again of how spread out these teams are where Jag and Jas still don’t know if Izzy and Paige survived the detour a couple of legs ago. We finally get the reunion of these two teams where Izzy and Paige have their you didn’t get rid of us moment. I did really enjoy the interaction of the teams at the stop with spending the night. I was reading on ChatBCC and there were so many on there saying how much fun they had that night and how they wished they had aired more of it. Sounds like it was a much needed fun interaction relaxing time for them with laughs.
The next morning arrives and the teams are off into the plane for their bungee jumping. There are three different planes so the top three teams get some more of their advantage back being able to go first. I was cracking up at Tucker laughing at Joseph’s reaction as he was about to jump out as Joseph was having his freak out moment. LOL. I also laughed when Joseph jumped while yelling “I love you Taylor!!” as he was about to go. Funny stuff up in that plane. The next plane had Paige jumping since Izzy isn’t able to do that. I am with Izzy as I’d be like nope, not doing this. You are. LOL. Paige is the one of the group with no reaction as she is going down just battling through it and trying to just get it done. I cracked up at her with the nope, that was no fun type reaction once getting to the ground. Teams go next to a sheep task where they have to get five sheep marked with blue and get them in a pin separate from the others. You also can only have those five and not extras. So, if you get some extras that come with the others, they have to be moved out leaving only the five. Funny moment here with one of Kyland and Taylor’s sheep escaping by just jumping straight up over the fence. Taylor’s reaction cracked me up with her, well, all right, reaction. LOL. I believe Taylor said on ChatBCC that they actually had two sheep do that to them. Tucker and Eric leave this task in first place and now the teams have to build a pontoon to row over to the middle of the water to get their next clue. One thing not shown in the episode mentioned by Joseph on ChatBCC is that Joseph and Adam had a medical issue here as Adam’s sugar got very low and they had to scramble to get him some orange juice to get his sugar up. Kudos to them all through this race as this race is tough enough but I just can’t even imagine the next level difficulty of doing this race while battling sugar high and low issues. Adam is TOUGH! The next task is the detour of where teams will either have to make mud bricks out of manure and hay or sew a Romanian mask. All the teams end up going for the bricks except for Izzy and Paige but we’ll get there. The teams in the back are struggling to finish the sheep task but finally get it accomplished. Izzy and Paige do a great job of just calming themselves and getting the task done. They’ve often said in this race that they work better when they don’t have teams around so they can just focus on what they’re doing.
Natalie and Stephanie are bickering more than we have seen through this race which is obviously from the stress of battling for their survival in the back group of teams. We got foreshadowing of this too at the beginning with them talking about being the “yin/yang sissies” cause they balance each other out so much. When they said that in the edit, I said uh oh. LOL. Definite crankiness with one another through a lot of this leg of the race including Natalie getting annoyed at Stephanie for not reading the clue of where to park for the brick making. We saw it again with the pontoon with them getting annoyed at each other on the rowing. Kyland and Taylor have some funny moments with their interaction with Kyland doing his Kyland things and Taylor giving her “this guy” eye roll type responses to the camera. LOL. Funny moments with Taylor reading all off her accomplishments in life with now adding manure shoveler to the lineup. Love Taylor. With the teams all doing the bricks, Izzy and Paige decide to go for the mask challenge. They have an absolute blast doing it and it’s something they enjoy anyway. I loved the guy there too in the mask who was the judge of the task. He was having fun with them and they enjoyed him as well. This ends up being a great decision by Izzy and Paige as they make up ground here versus the teams struggling with the brick making. Namely Natalie and Stephanie who are battling to try and finish.
The front group had Eric and Tucker finishing first once again for their fourth number one in a row. Joseph & Adam and Taylor & Kyland end up lost but see each other and work together to get to the pit stop. Funny moment at the mat when Taylor & Kyland and Joseph & Adam arrive at the mat to finish the leg as Joseph and Adam still covered in manure chase Phil around wanting to give him a hug. Phil was not having it. LOL. The battle is on in the back on can Izzy and Paige move ahead of Natalie and Stephanie? The answer is yes. Izzy and Paige make a great decision to go opposite of the other teams and do the much calmer sewing task which moves them ahead. They get to the pit stop first and Natalie and Stephanie are eliminated from the race.
