Shocking news on the new Buffy The Vampire Slayer series today as Sarah Michelle Gellar announced on her Instagram today that Hulu has decided not to move forward on the new series. Here is what Sarah had to say on her Instagram video: “So, I am really sad to have to share this but I wanted you well to hear it from me. Unfortunately, Hulu has decided not to move forward with Buffy: New Sunnydale. I want to thank Chloé Zhao, because I never thought I would find myself back in Buffy’s stylish, yet affordable boots. 
And thanks to Chloe, I was reminded how much I love her and how much she means, not only to me, but to all of you. And this doesn’t change any of that. And I promise, if the apocalypse actually comes, you could still beep me”
Well, this is a massive shocker to all of us Buffyverse fans as this thing seemed to be on the right track. It had just felt like it might not be soon based on a recent SMG interview I watched where she spoke of how they weren’t going to release it till they made sure it was the best it could be. No reasoning yet given on why Hulu isn’t moving forward as we only have the SMG announcement. Disappointing start to this Saturday to say the least with this news.
