I’ve been watching Survivor for 26 years now and this was one of the strangest episodes that I have EVER watched. I’m still not even sure what I just watched.
The episode starts back at Night 3 with Toka coming back from tribal council. Jenna is thankful to survive the night. Brady and Devin talk about their difference of opinion on the vote and are good with each other on it. They get a surprise when Lewis arrives in the middle of the night and he’s now a part of Toka. He gives them all the truthful info on that Exile is back and what all happened to him. Kilby in his confessional says he has supernatural powers of knowing when people are lying and says that Lewis is lying. So, Kilby might want to download an update on his supernatural powers cause it’s weak. LOL. We move to Day 4 going over to Savu. Alexis and Ana are talking game about who to target next and such and there is talk of how they have an Iranian bond between them and wanting to be on the same page. This lasts all of the next five seconds of this episode. Alexis was dropping names of people to target. Ana immediately takes this info to Carter. Alexis walks up on this conversation of Ana talking about her. Ana turns the conversation to…..popcorn. LOL. Ana and Carter laugh about it with Ana saying I can’t believe I just messed up like that and tried to pretend I was talking about popcorn. She said it was the only thing that popped in her head of what to talk about. See what I did there? LOL. Alexis walks away saying she knows Ana was talking about her. Alexis gets on the offensive telling people that Ana was throwing names out. She mentions Linnea and Sharonda. Sharonda gets filled in on that Ana was naming her as a smart player. We go over to Toka where Lewis is trying to catch up with the tribe getting to know everyone and get his social game moving. Then, things go off the rails when Brady accidentally hurts himself chopping wood. Blood everywhere. He’s freaking out more about that he’s going to be removed from the game more than that there is blood everywhere and he’s actually cut off a portion of his thumb. Completely not kidding. A producer steps in talking to him while Brady is trying to hype himself up of he’s fine. The Survivor doctor shows up to check him out. Brady is freaking out over everything. The doctor says he will just give him antibiotics and get him ready for the next challenge. Brady gets to stay in the game. That was a lot.
We move to the reward challenge where the winning tribe will get comfort items. The early part of this challenge is that they will be split into duos where they have one blindfolded and will be led by another person through the task. This has all sorts of things going on. Some are leaving their person. Some are dragging their person. Some are full holding on to their person. Kristin bangs up her foot during this. Brady drags Kilby through. Brady is like a wrecking ball so far this season. Toka comes from behind to win after Jelly seals it with the sandbag. They win tarp, matches, a hammock, and pillows. Back at Savu, Kristin is talking about her injured foot. She said it’s either broken bones or tendons because of how much popping she heard. She said in confessional that she’s been applying for this show for 26 years so she’s staying in the game. Rob calls out the strategy in the challenge asking why Linnea was the one leading and Eric was blindfolded in that duo. Rob also criticizes a previous challenge too so he’s just in cranky ranting mode which isn’t going over well with the tribe. Back at Toka, they get their rewards and build up their camp. Jelly goes idol looking and she finds one. So, we have two idols in play on both tribes. Rob last week and now Jelly this week. Devin, Patt, and Jelly all talk about wanting to get on the same page in the game. When Patt and Jelly are alone, Jelly tells her that she found an idol. They are wanting to align with Brady, Devin, and Mike. Back at Savu, Eric is still bothering people in his tribe and is a target.
Day 5 takes us to the immunity challenge and it’s a rain filled immunity challenge. Jeff says you wanted Survivor and you got Survivor. It felt like he was about to channel his inner Lieutenant Dan screaming “you call this a storm??!!” The tribes have to drag this huge fake whale across the water and on to the beach. Toka gets theirs to the beach while Savu is struggling to get their over their last hill in the water. Toka looks ready to win but starts struggling on the last part of it. Savu starts to catch up as Brady just vents out into the abyss. Maggie seals the win for Toka which will send Savu to tribal council.
Things go off the rails again with the post immunity challenge stuff with Savu. Rob thinks it will be Eric that goes as the tribe has been talking about voting him out. Rob included in that as Rob has been the one pushing it the hardest over the first two episodes. The tribe talks about saying who do we tell Eric is the target so he doesn’t know. Ana ends up saying to just use her name. With a target, Sharonda wants Ana out after she had heard Ana saying her name previously. Linnea sees Ori and Carter talking. Eric is told that his name is coming up. Eric tells Sharonda again about Ana throwing her name out. Sharonda talks to Ori about wanting Ana out expecting that Ori would go with her on that. Nope, he’s still on the Eric train pushing everyone to get Eric out. We get a confessional of Rob where he is talking about missing his family and how he’s struggling with that out there. He talks to Eric and says he has a plan but he won’t tell him the plan. He says to Eric that he’ll tell him at tribal council and to just follow him on it. Is he looking to walk out of the game here???? We get to tribal council. Things are fairly normal till we get to the time to vote. Rob pulls Eric to the side and tells him that the Ana vote is a fake and that they’re all coming for Eric. He tells Eric to play his shot in the dark and that if he’s not good, he’ll play his idol on him. We have a very confused rest of the tribe. Rob goes to vote and says I want to give him a second chance and I’m making a sacrifice. He writes his own name down and a producer says “you can’t write your own name”. Rob is basically, what???? Everyone is noticing how long he’s taking to vote and it’s bringing up even more red flags. Rob returns to his seat. No shot in the dark played. Does anybody have an advantage or an idol to play? All quiet. No idol played. What in the world? LOL. The votes look like they are going to Eric but then the Ana votes come in and it’s a 6-4 vote sending Ana home. Well, ok. Then, we get the clips at the end seeing where the votes were and Rob VOTED OUT ERIC. LOL. What in the world is going on??? LOL. So, let’s recap Rob. He causes chaos for five days. Throws Eric under the bus constantly. Targets Rob. Gets annoyed with his tribe with strategy. Suddenly he changes course and wants to save Eric. Tries to vote himself out. Says he’ll play his idol and doesn’t. Changes back to voting Eric out. I don’t know what I even just watched. One of the strangest episodes I have ever seen. Well……it was chaos for sure.
