As always, I am starting with Big Brother 6. Kaysar as HOH this week has pulled one of the biggest power plays in Big Brother history. He has turned the house upside down. The house had been under the reign of Eric and crew. Eric has been running the game and been doing a lot of stuff to stir things up. He targeted Michael who was in his original alliance and suddenly came up with the sexual harassment complaints with the women. Michael was ganged up on and suddenly outcast which he didn’t deserve as the whole thing got way out of control. Michael was evicted and his secret partner was Kaysar. Kaysar won HOH. He put up James and Maggie for eviction. Kaysar found out each of the secret partners and started calling them out to people. James and Sarah were denying that they knew each other but Kaysar knew what was going on. Kaysar said that he couldn’t put up Eric due to his promise. So, Maggie was put up as he was going to get rid of James due to James lying to him about not being aligned with Sarah. Then, a move was made to get rid of Eric. Kaysar and Janelle decided to see if they could get an alliance going to overthrow the power in the house. They talked to James and Sarah about it. James and Sarah decided that they needed to tell Kaysar and Janelle about their partnership to show that they could be trusted. So, they told Kaysar and Janelle about it to no surprise from Kaysar as he was sure of it. They decided that they would try and get the next secret partner pair of Rachel and Howie. They agreed to align. So, now we have an alliance of Kaysar, Janelle, James, Sarah, Howie, and Rachel to overthrow the power. This brings us to the veto competition. Eric and crew knew something big was happening when James picked Janelle to compete with him in the veto competition. It was a chess game and it was all decided that they were going to let James win so he could veto himself off of the block and Kaysar would put Eric up on the block. They cornered Ivette and Maggie immediately and got them out of it. They knew something was going on then and James won the veto. Maggie went to Kaysar and he told her that he knew about her partnership with Eric and that the game had just been turned upside down. Kaysar never lied to anyone about what he was getting ready to do and Eric even asked if he was going up on the block. Kaysar told him yes and Eric went off complaining to everyone. Eric and Ivette are rattled!! Maybe now the houseguests can stay up past 11:30 due to Eric wanting them in bed by then. When have the houseguests ever went to sleep before like 2:00??!! When I would watch the live feeds in BB3, they would be up talking all night. Well, Eric was voted off by a 5-4 vote so the alliance had the numbers and got him out of there. The alliance does have trouble this week as Maggie won HOH and she will no doubt be looking for some revenge. The houseguests also were officially told of the secret partners and that everyone had a partner which didn’t surprise anyone cause everyone finally came clean about it earlier in the week but some were more upfront about it than others. They were also told of the one million dollar prize and 250,000 dollar second prize if a secret duo gets to the final 2. They didn’t know about that surprise.
It looks like the alternate ending for American Dreams will air. This week’s TV Guide Insider is saying that it is going to happen and that the fans will get an ending to the show instead of the cliffhanger that we got at the end of the season. It is supposed to air this summer according to NBC’s Jeff Zucker. That would make some sense as to why American Dreams is still on NBC’s site. All the other canceled shows have been taken off of the site except for American Dreams. The Dreams fans have been wondering if that means anything so maybe that is what the deal is? No date was given on when it will air but I did hear that the alternate ending is 12 minutes long and takes place 3 years later from when the cliffhanger happened. I will just be glad to see something new from American Dreams although I really want a whole new season but I’ll take what I can get. I’m kind of getting used to my favorite show being canceled. I have said lately that I think I am the kiss of death with TV shows cause every time I declare what my favorite show is then it gets canceled. 2002 was Roswell and it was canceled. Then, it was Buffy and Dawson’s Creek in 2003 but to be fair they were ended and not canceled. 2004 was Angel and it WAS canceled cause the cast and crew were very ready to do another great season. 2005 was American Dreams. I kid you not when I say that I had thought one night that American Dreams is probably my favorite show now and 3 days later the news came out of it being possibly canceled. So, excuse me while I’m a little paranoid to declare another show my favorite.
Speaking of TV Guide, TV Guide is expanding their magazine. It is going to become more of a entertainment story type magazine instead of TV listings. TV Guide right now has 75% listings and 25% stories and now that is going to reverse. There are going to be little listings and have more stories. The listings have gotten smaller lately anyway in TV Guide. If you want to see the listings past 10:00 at night in TV Guide, then you are out of luck. TV Guide has been struggling in the last couple of years and has been losing a lot of money but they won’t say how much. So, this is why the change is happening. It will go into effect in October if I remember right.
November 1st is the official date for the Star Wars Episode 3 DVD to hit stores. I’ve seen a picture of the cover of the DVD and it looks very cool. No word on extras for the disc yet. The Batman movie anthology box set is set for release on October 18th. It will feature Batman, Batman Returns, Batman Forever, and Batman & Robin. They will also be released individually as double disc editions. Bonus features include commentaries by Burton and Schumacher, cast and crew interviews, several documentaries, making of featurettes and nine music videos.
The WB has scheduled the network premiere of Lord Of The Rings: The Two Towers to go up against the Emmy Awards. Some people are thinking that the WB is doing that on purpose to take some viewers away from the awards after the WB was completely left out of the nominees for the Emmys. The WB is denying it of course but I hope that they did do it on purpose. I agree with many of the critics that Gilmore Girls got robbed whether it be the show itself or the cast. That show is great. The writing and cast is amazing and it deserved some nominations.
James Marsters is joining the cast of Smallville this year. He will play a villain named Professor Milton Fine otherwise known as Brainiac.
