Hey everyone. The fall season of TV is here and there is a ton to talk about so here we go.
I LOVED the Saturday episode of Big Brother. Janelle has the Friendship all rattled and they are in complete denial about America liking Janelle. I had to laugh at their conversation after Janelle won yet another America’s Choice vote as she got to go to the set of CBS’s Two and a Half Men and meet the cast. They completely trashed Janelle and were upset with America continuing to vote against them in America’s Choice. They had one conversation where they decided that they were the strongest alliance ever in Big Brother history. They are one thing in Big Brother history for sure. They’re the biggest sore losers in Big Brother history. Every time they lose they just cry, wine, and moan and bad mouth everyone about it. The episode really painted them as what the people watching the live feeds see from them everyday. Tuesday’s episode was a live eviction episode. April was evicted from the house which I was happy about. There was a lot on the message boards about the big shouting match between Ivette and April with some people even posting audio of it from the live feeds. It was trimmed down for TV for sure for time’s sake. This could be a chance for Janelle if she can get to the final 2. If she can get to the final 2, she still has the odds against her but her odds have increased with the problems between Ivette and April. The HOH competition for this week has 3 parts to it. The first part of it was still ongoing as the show went off the air on Tuesday night. The next episode will be on FRIDAY so a note to all of you that are watching the show as it will air tomorrow night on CBS. I have already found out who won the first two legs of the HOH through the message boards but I won’t spoil it. The Big Brother 6 finale will be on Tuesday night at 7pm central time where the jury will vote for a winner. It’s going to be an explosive episode I’m sure. Then, one can only hope that House Calls gets to do another Town Hall Meeting like last season where they get to talk to everyone after the show is over. Marcellas and Gretchen have a ton of stuff that they want to call these people out on especially the Friendship. That could be an explosive interview.
I mentioned last week that I had recorded the series premiere of Reunion on Fox. I watched it over the weekend and I have to say that I really liked it. The show starts in present day with a funeral but we never see who’s funeral it is. We then go back in time to 1986 and are introduced to a group of 6 friends that are as tight as can be. They graduate high school in 1986 and that is where we pick up at. All the friends have various plans for the summer and year ahead whether it be college or whatever. They get together for a party. Will Estes from American Dreams plays a character named Will (go figure). He and his best friend Craig are leaving the party and both have been drinking but Craig had definitely had the most while Will had very little. There is a car accident and the next scene goes to the hospital where Will is laying in a hospital bed. He is banged up but definitely fine. Craig knows what his own blood alcohol level was and knew he was in trouble as the other driver was very banged up. Craig kind of throws an idea out there about Will telling the police that he was driving as he had little alcohol in him. The police come in and end up arresting Craig due to his alcohol level being quite over the limit. Will ends up telling the officer that he was driving and gets Craig off the hook. One thing we find out is that Will slept with Craig’s girlfriend after her and Craig broke up. He is feeling really bad for sleeping with his best friend’s ex-girlfriend who is also one of the 6 friends. She ends up pregnant with Will’s baby but ends up deciding to have an abortion. She later changes her mind at the doctor’s office and comes up with a different plan. She doesn’t tell Will that she is pregnant though and Craig knows nothing about this either. Things are going fine until the police arrest Will after he is released from the hospital after the other driver took a big turn for the worst and passed away. Will was charged with manslaughter. Craig is really overcome with guilt about Will taking the blame for the accident but Craig’s dad seems to be ok with it cause he knows that Craig would likely get 5 years in jail if it was known he was the driver. They figure out that Will would only likely get probation and decide to keep it going. The plea bargain is decided on and it is planned out that he will only get probation. The judge though goes a different way and doesn’t go with what was expected. She sentences Will to one year in jail. The 6 friends are stunned by the news but Will doesn’t back down and says to Craig that he will do that for him cause he knows how bad it will be on Craig if he was convicted plus they are way too far into things anyway to go back. Will isn’t happy about it for sure, don’t get me wrong. There are other stories going on with one of the friends being interested in another but that friend is interested in the other one. Typical romantic storyline there. The end of the episode sees the friends mostly going different directions for the summer and year. We keep flashing back to present day as there is a detective trying to get info from one of the friends at the funeral and she is telling the story of what happened in the past. Apparently one friend murdered another member of the group who’s funeral is being shown. This show is going to go ahead one year in time with each episode as we get closer to what happened in present day. Next week’s episode will be 1987 and Will getting out of jail. One thing I noticed right off the bat was all the great music that they put in this show and they nailed it as far as getting the music correct from 1986. The soundtrack to this show is great!! The idea to this show is very original and I give it a thumbs up and am going to keep watching. It comes on Thursdays at 8:00 following the O.C. on Fox. The show held a lot of the O.C.’s viewers and did a good rating out of the gate. Tonight’s 2nd episode of Reunion has been pushed back to next Thursday at 8:00 due to the presidential speech.
Wow, that has to be the most physically exhausting beginning to Survivor that I have ever seen. Survivor Guatemala premiered tonight. The cast had to go through an 11 mile journey through everything just to start the show. The guys on the one tribe were just beaten down physically so much so that it was scary at some points. CBS had been promoting that two popular Survivor contestants would be coming back to compete again. It wasn’t a letdown as we got Stephenie and Bobby Jon from last season. Stephenie is one of the toughest women that I have ever seen so having her back to get to compete again will be fun. Her and Bobby Jon were on the same tribe last season and their tribe was beaten in every immunity challenge. They would be so close but just not able to win. It was the only time ever in Survivor history that there was not a merge of both tribes. It came down to the two of them and they had to compete to see who stayed around and Stephenie won but went into a tribe that was already aligned. Now, they get a second chance. Bobby Jon was one of the guys that had a really tough time in this first episode physically and who could blame them. I have never seen a tribe have 4 guys down right away on the first day and be unsure if they’re going to be able to keep going. Jim was voted off after he had a bicep muscle snap during the immunity challenge as he just wasn’t going to be able to hang in with that which is a bummer cause I liked him from what I saw of him. Make no mistake, this is going to be a physically grueling season of Survivor with it looking like it is going to get worse next week by the previews.
The Gilmore Girls season premiere was good on Tuesday night and came in with a 4.0 rating for the night. We finally got our answers with the cliffhangers that we got left with 4 months ago. Lorelei and Luke are getting married but now Luke is hearing it from everyone about how she proposed to him and took his moment. It was very funny with how the town was reacting to it. When watching Rory and Logan together, am I the only one thinking that I would never say what I’m about to say but doesn’t it make you miss Jess??!! Rory has spiraled downhill since meeting this guy so I guess we’ll have to see if she comes back around this season and gets back to school. Paris’s reaction to Rory dropping out of Yale was great. If you didn’t see a recent TV Guide, the character of Paris was voted in the top 10 of supporting actor/actress scene stealers. That character is great and the show wouldn’t be the same without her or actually without any of them. Each character brings a lot to the show. Rory also was hit with the book pretty much from the judge and was given 300 hours of community service. It will be interesting to see how Lorelei and Rory’s relationship withstands this whole thing.

I bought the 2nd season of One Tree Hill and just as the first season, Warner Brothers did a great job with the set. First thing I noticed is that it is in widescreen 16:9 format!! Loving that!! The set has 48 unaired scenes from the entire season with an introduction by the writer on each one. There are other features on there such as a look behind the music of One Tree Hill. Speaking of the music, from what I can tell so far, the music seems to be in tact and not replaced. If you like this show, then you’ll like this DVD set for sure.
I have heard that Nashville is one of the cities that is offering to help out the NBA’s New Orleans Hornets. One conflict seems to be that a lot of the regular season dates conflict with the schedule of the Nashville teams already playing at the Arena. There are several other cities offering to help out the Hornets including Louisville. Nashville getting some NBA would be huge. How about getting those Chicago Bulls down there in Nashville??!!!
Here is some various stuff. I was flipping around the channels the other night and came across ABC Family. Can’t Buy Me Love was on. I love that movie and haven’t seen it in a while!! Jason Priestley will be doing a 2 episode guest appearance on What I Like About You in October which will reunite him and Jennie Garth from the 90210 days. Luke Perry has appeared on the show as a love interest for Garth’s character Val. Priestley’s character will also be a love interest for Val this season. I have noticed that a ton of movies that I’ve been wanting to see back in the spring and early summer are starting to roll out on DVD very soon. So, I have a ton of movies to watch in the near future. I know some of you are Masters Of The Universe fans from back in the day including myself. Along with upcoming season sets, the He-Man and She-Ra Christmas Special is going to be released on DVD December 6th. After reading the description of the special on the press release, I can somewhat remember this episode. Extras for the set are: The Holidays and Morals of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, The Heroes and Villains of He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, I Have The Power music video featurette, A Montage Of Morals, Character Profiles, Trivia and “fun facts”, The Complete Christmas Special Script in .PDF format, and 2 4X6 art cards.
Quite a bit to talk about this week for sure. Don’t forget the Big Brother finale on Tuesday night. Talk to you next week.
