Yeah, I get to start with Big Brother yet again. Yes, the show is over but the cast members are getting around to various internet shows to discuss things. The Fishbowl hosted Howie, Rachel, James, and Sarah the day after the finale. I listened to it and here is some of the stuff that was said. Needless to say the Friendship isn’t very popular. Howie said that Ivette and Beau weren’t getting along at all at the finale. Beau feels that she sold him out. Beau and Janelle got into another fight at the sequester house. Howie mentioned that Ivette was mad over not winning as she thought people should have voted for her. Howie did say that he messed up big time by putting up James and Sarah and how it messed up everything. Sarah had time to fill in James on a lot of stuff after the finale. James and Sarah are doing good and happy to be reunited. The Friendship has big time fallen apart. Ivette doesn’t like Jennifer. Ivette is mad over stuff that Eric and the rest of the Friendship said about her which she was told after the show by her girlfriend. April and Ivette are really mad at each other. There is another show where they interviewed Janelle and another show where they interviewed James and Michael but I haven’t gotten the chance to listen to these yet. Head over to www.thefishbowl.com where it is an all reality website with reality stars from all various shows hosting different audio shows, posting columns, and whatever else. I highly recommend it as the site is a lot of fun and it’s a good way to keep up to date on your favorite reality stars.
TV Guide is 2 weeks away from it’s bigger magazine format. The new size of the magazine will be 8″ x 10 1/2″. Everybody Hates Chris on UPN debuted last week to a 4.6 rating. It was the highest rated comedy premiere in UPN’s history and also number 3 overall in UPN’s history. The show beat the first half hour of Joey’s one hour season premiere. Did anyone see the goof up by Jennifer Garner on the Tonight Show? I missed it but read about it. Apparently, she didn’t want anyone to know if her and Ben Affleck’s baby would be a boy or a girl. She told Jay Leno that she didn’t want to reveal the news. Later in the interview, Jennifer accidentally said “she” and then was stunned that she had just done that. Looks like it’s a girl. am hearing that Growing Pains season 1 is coming to DVD in the spring. No official word yet though. I’ll be getting this one for sure.
Some Spiderman 3 news. Kirsten Dunst revealed the names of the villain characters that we will see in Spiderman 3. Thomas Haden Church and Topher Grace will be playing the roles. The villains will be Venom and Sandman.
For anyone that watches Angel weekdays on TNT, TNT has moved Angel to a new time. It is now seen at 6am central time in the mornings so there you go for any of you early risers. They are currently showing the first season. Amy Acker had a guest starring role this week on the new WB show Supernatural. If you missed it, it is shown in Easy View on the WB this weekend. Amy will also appear in the October 13th episode of Alias. When asked about anything new from Angel, she said that she has been asked about coming back as Illyria. Amy is up for it and has said many times in the past that she was up for anything that Joss Whedon wanted to do. She said that she talked to Joss a couple of weeks ago and he is still planning on going through with the Spike movie. Joss just has too much on him right now with his movie Serenity getting ready to hit theatres tomorrow which in case you didn’t know is the movie based off the Firefly TV series.
I found out today that DirecTV is going to start offering XM Radio as part of its programming package. I have yet to confirm on whether DirecTV is going to keep Music Choice too. Music Choice is the audio only channels that play music. Music Choice is good for sure but I am really looking forward to checking out XM Radio as I’ve never listened to it. XM Radio will be available on November 15th. Total Choice subscribers will get 50 channels plus 19 additional while Total Choice Plus subscribers will get 67 channels plus 31 additional of it. If you’re a DirecTV customer, go to channel 800 where it will give you info. I’m very excited to check this out.
Sci-Fi Channel will be running another Roswell marathon on Monday, October 10th. They are going to start with the first episode and run the first 8 episodes beginning at 7am. Wow, I really miss this show!! If you’re a Roswell fan, head over to the Crashdown at www.crashdown.com to get your Roswell news. This is the site that spear headed the Tabasco sauce campaign a few years ago that actually helped keep the show on for a couple more years. The campaign picked up big time with fans sending Tabasco sauce to the WB in support of the show. Why Tabasco sauce? Well, if you watch the show, you’ll understand. After the WB canceled it after the 2nd season, the attention turned to UPN who were also picking up Buffy from the WB. UPN got loaded up with sauce and postcards too and UPN picked up Roswell to put behind Buffy on Tuesday nights. Yes, I took part in this campaign too and helped support this great show. Roswell didn’t make it past it’s 3rd season but the support from fans got it 2 more seasons and a DVD release. When I met Julie Benz a couple of years ago, I was excited to meet her not just cause of her Buffy/Angel fame but also her Roswell fame. The Crashdown is an awesome site and it was one happening place for sure and still is.
The 8th season of the Amazing Race kicked off this past Tuesday on CBS. I was really iffy about this family edition season with teams of 4 people. I just wasn’t sure about this experiment and just wasn’t really that excited about it. After watching the 1st episode, I would like to say I was wrong. The 2 hour premiere was a very strong episode and had me glued to it. There are a lot of good personalities on this season. The teams are of all ages with a couple of teams having little kids on it. I thought immediately that they will have problems as the kids won’t be able to compete as strong as adults. I was really impressed with the Gahgan Family as they proved me wrong. They have one little boy and one little girl and they had a very strong showing in the first episode. The Black Family who also had kids were eliminated this week but they had a good showing too and seemed like a really nice family. I am glad that the Linz Family is still around as they are really entertaining so far. How scary was that wagon incident with the Weaver Family??!! That could have been really bad but thankfully everything was fine. How cool was it to see Kevin and Drew from season 1 on the episode? They were hot dog vendors that the teams had to find to continue on. It seemed like only one of the teams recognized them unless they didn’t show it. I loved Kevin and Drew as they were a very memorable team and their constant bickering back and forth was hilarious. So, the first episode of the Amazing Race gets a thumbs up from me.
I was checking out my DVR to make sure that it recorded 7th Heaven this week. I watched the beginning credits and my first thought was how many people are on this show now? Good grief, there are a ton of people in the credits. One of them being Sarah Thompson who was in the last season of Angel. I think I am going to just pick up from here with the show as I am about 3 seasons behind on this show. I have them all recorded but haven’t ever gotten to watch it. So, I think I’m just going to jump back in. For any of you 7th Heaven fans, I may need some questions answered in the coming weeks about stuff that has happened so get ready.
A lot of attention will be on Spike TV and USA Network this coming weekend and Monday night with both networks loading up programming against the other. I’ve mentioned this in the Wrestling List but I thought I would go into it here too. WWE, after 5 years on Spike TV, is going back to USA Network on Monday night while TNA wrestling debuts on Spike TV on Saturday night. If you are one of those less talk and more wrestling type people, give TNA wrestling a chance as their in ring product is by far better than WWE’s right now. Spike TV is loading up Monday night with UFC programming to go head to head with USA. TNA will also get a replay Monday night at 11pm. Both networks have been countering each other’s moves for a month now. Raw was set to start at 7pm for a special 3 hour “Homecoming” show. Spike TV decided to start UFC at 7pm to go head to head. USA and WWE made the move to start Raw at 6:55pm. Now, Spike TV has set UFC to start at 6pm to get the quicker jump start. The ratings will be very fun to watch this week.
