One thing has been shown with this season of Big Brother, viewers are divided on who they like and want to see win. I think that is cool cause most of the time the fans are usually for the same people. From what I’ve seen online and from conversations I’ve had with people, it’s all divided. Me? I’ve made it clear that I like Chilltown. Do I like everything that they’ve done? Of course not but they have run this game from the beginning. While watching Tuesday’s Big Brother, there was this sad feeling for me of seeing the King dethroned. The King of Big Brother was voted out on Tuesday night as Will was voted out. The girls FINALLY got together and realized that they were being played. Let’s go back as the nominations last week by Boogie were Janelle and Erika. Janelle wins veto and takes herself off the block which means that Will has to go up as there is no one else left. Janelle as the veto winner gets to cast the one vote to evict and she gives a speech saying that she “had made a lot of mistakes in this game” but that she was done making mistakes. She evicts Will. Will was disappointed but of course wasn’t mad. He said what he has said all along and that it is a game. Next up is part one of the three part HOH competition. It is an endurance challenge with them having to hold on the longest to win. The challenge starts and Boogie says to Julie Chen “do you remember Richard Hatch? Well, one of you is going to have to take me to win”. He pulls out of the competition and sits down. Janelle was so shocked that she lost focus and took her hand off of her key. I noticed this live and thought that we were going to have another live competition controversy. Back from commercial and Julie tells Janelle that she had been eliminated to which Janelle denied taking her hand off. The video clearly showed it though and Erika had won it. I really think Erika would have won that part anyway cause she did really well in the web endurance challenge earlier in the season. You know that the producers had to be mad with how part one of the HOH competition turned out as I’m sure they wanted that thing to carry on to the next episode. Plus, it took them a day to build the crazy thing and we didn’t even get to see what all it could do. This brings us to tonight’s episode. Part two of the HOH competition was won by Boogie. This eliminated Janelle. Part three saw Erika against Boogie live on tonight’s show. Boogie won HOH and chose who to evict. Boogie evicted Janelle which means that the final two is Boogie and Erika. I am not sure if either of them could have beaten Janelle in the final two. The finale will be on Tuesday night at 7pm with the jury getting to question the final two. Then, the voting will take place on the winner of Big Brother All Stars.
Other thoughts for the week. I’ve said this before but we NEED a camera in the sequester house as I’m sure it is very entertaining in there just from what we saw. I was disappointed that we didn’t get to see James’ entrance in there. Not sure why. Hurricane John did in fact force the houseguests to move to a new sequester house. Howie? Yep, that was why I couldn’t stand Howie. Imagine seeing how he acts on the feeds all day and you’ll understand why I didn’t like him. It’s a game Howie. His reaction to George just made him look awful and I’m embarrassed for him. Howie is definitely not the favorite that he was last season as viewers aren’t liking him near as much. I’ve said this before but he does a lot of talking for a guy that didn’t make one big move in two seasons of Big Brother. Thoughts on how this plays out? This all depends on how the jury votes. Do they vote for game play or do they vote personal feelings? If they vote personal, Erika wins. If they vote game, Boogie wins. Erika’s disadvantage is that she hasn’t played a strong game. The argument against that is that she got Danielle evicted. Yeah, but not really. That was a Chilltown play that got Danielle put up on the block and evicted. My prediction of a winner is Boogie but again it depends if the jury votes personal or game play. One thing is for sure though. This finale will be fun to watch.
What You Missed On The Live Feeds: Janelle and Erika were talking all kinds of trash after Will was evicted saying how they took the “chill out of Chilltown”. Boogie didn’t talk to either one of them for a little bit and went straight to the diary room. There appears to have been problems with pictures falling off the wall during the veto competition. Boogie and Erika were both complaining about it as they say it slowed them up. One interesting thing that was not shown on tonight’s show was a conversation that took place between Boogie and Erika where Erika was saying that she would throw the part three of HOH so Boogie could be the bad guy voting out Janelle. I don’t know if that was all talk or what. Everyone lies so much that it’s hard to tell what is true!! ha ha.
Big Brother had its highest rated show since September 2004 on Tuesday’s episode that saw Will get evicted. It was announced on tonight’s show that an America’s Choice vote will be made to vote on who in the jury house will win $25,000. Great news tonight as a promo ran asking people to send in applications for Big Brother 8. It looks like the show will return next summer!! Yeah baby!!
Big Brother Line Of The Week: “Operation Double Date is turning into Operation Double Mistake” – Will talking about the girls finally getting together and talking.
Ok, I finished the second season of Laguna Beach over the Labor Day weekend. Wow, I loved that season!! I thought season one was good but season two blew it away. Could there have been any more drama??!! Jason & Jessica. Jason & Alex. Jason & Lauren. Catching the trend here? Seriously, what is it that these girls see in Jason to where they keep getting treated horrible and go back for more? It does remind me of high school. Those guys always got the girls and it never made sense. Season two was one of those shows where you watch and think I’ll watch one more episode, then just one more episode, and then you can’t stop. Loved it. Now, my question is how is this new season of Laguna Beach that is currently airing which features a different cast? Is it worth checking out? Let me know.
My other TV viewing of the Labor Day weekend was that I FINALLY got started watching Veronica Mars. This is a show that I have wanted to watch since it premiered. I am four episodes into the first season and I love it!! The pilot episode was really well done and did a great job of setting up the story. I was hooked on it just after that first episode. Joss Whedon, creator of Buffy and Angel, is crazy about this show and I can see why. He even went as far as to say that Veronica Mars was the best show that he’d ever seen. With him being such a fan, they gave him a guest appearance in an episode. To set it up for you, Veronica Mars is obviously the main character of the show. She is a junior in high school and works with her dad, Keith Mars, who is a private eye at Mars Investigations. Her dad used to be the sheriff until he was forced out of his job. Veronica’s best friend, Lilly Kane, was murdered a year or so earlier. Veronica was also dating Lilly’s brother, Duncan Kane, and they were all part of the cool clique in high school. The investigation into the murder strained all of Veronica’s relationships as Veronica’s dad arrested the Kane father for murdering his daughter. The town backlashed over the arrest as the family is very wealthy and powerful. A former Kane business employee was arrested for the murder so the charges against the father were dropped. The town backlashed so bad that it forced Keith Mars from his job. Veronica basically was forced to choose between her friends or her dad. She stuck by her dad and was basically exiled at school. So, Veronica ends up working with her dad as a private eye. Line of the first episode is Veronica narrating to viewers about different people at school and she points out Logan saying “every school has their obligatory psychotic jack*** , that’s ours”. That line was hilarious!! I won’t spoil the rest of the first episode as a lot happens in the story to set things up for the season. I do see why they have pushed this show so much at the Buffy/Angel audience cause the style of the show is very similar with the writing and also the dominant female lead character. I have a feeling that I am going to fly through this DVD set.
Here are the movie box office numbers for Labor Day weekend.

The last night of WB programming is going to see the WB pay tribute to some of their best shows. September 17, 2006 is the day that the WB will air the series premieres of some of their biggest hits. These shows include Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Angel, Dawson’s Creek, and Felicity. I heard about this earlier in the summer and loved the idea. All of the first episodes of each of those shows are really good. Where are 7th Heaven and Gilmore Girls? The WB’s thinking on this is that those shows are still going on to the new network so they stuck to past shows. WB is promoting it a ton as I saw promos several times this week. I love the promos as they have brought back “Crawl” as the song used in the new promos. If you watched the WB as much as I did in that era, you might remember the “WB Faces” promos that they did in 1999 with that song just featuring various stars of the network.
This will for sure be an order pizza, eat popcorn, night of TV as I definitely plan on watching this night of programming. I just hope that we get to see it here locally.
I’m so glad that the talk shows are back with new episodes!! These reruns were boring me badly!!
How sad was it to hear about what happened to Steve Irwin also known as the Crocodile Hunter? I know I speak for all of us in saying that our prayers and thoughts are with his family. Just very sad news.
Last week’s MTV Video Music Awards ratings were down 28% from last year. The VMA’s averaged about 5.77 million fans this year. The ratings for the awards show two years ago were double what this year’s show got. Many people just didn’t watch and I was one of them. This night used to be must see viewing and was one of those nights where I made plans around watching the VMA’s. I didn’t watch it this year and I didn’t watch it last year.
The fall season is about to start and at the top of my list to check out is CBS’s “The Class”. The show was written by one of the creators of Friends, David Crane, and is getting really good reviews. CBS has been promoting this thing insanely over the summer. TV Guide loves it from their early review and even went as far as to say “Friends Part 2” in describing the show. Wow, that is pressure to put on that show. There are two or three new shows on NBC that I wouldn’t mind checking out too but I’m still bitter over how American Dreams got treated. Oh yeah, I’m still very bitter over that cancellation.
To you late night TV viewers, has anyone seen this show on TBS called Midnight Money Madness? It is a live game show where they give away money to people that call in and give right answers to various games that they will have on TV which are often word games. They have a 900 number that you call to play so it cost 99 cents to even call. The reason that I noticed this show the first time was that the woman on there looks a lot like Stacy Keibler of WWE and Dancing With The Stars fame. My first question was “what is Stacy doing on there and why does she have a British accent”. Ok, I didn’t say the British accent thing cause it was obvious that it wasn’t Stacy. The woman on there does look a lot like her though. Apparently, TBS’s strategy was to put this show on for the late night viewers that are flipping around the channels trying to find something to watch and grab them. Well, it grabbed me!! In fact, this show is the reason that I haven’t gotten to sleep until 2am for the last couple of nights cause I can’t quit watching it. I’m not sure why I can’t quit watching it but I can’t. The show is fun and the hosts are fun too. The show airs Monday through Thursday nights from 11:40pm till 1:40am on TBS.
I hope that you got to watch some of those Andre Agassi US Open matches. They were amazing. The crowd reaction to Agassi there in New York was just unreal. This was Agassi’s last tournament. His first couple of matches went right down to the wire and were almost 4 hour matches lasting till about 1am New York time. That match with him and Baghdatis was amazing!! Agassi did end up losing to Becker in the third round as he physically just couldn’t keep up as his bad back caught up to him after the grueling first couple of matches. What a tournament to wrap up a great career!
Will iTunes be offering movies to download? The rumors are flying that it will happen and it looks like we may know something by next week.
I’m probably alone here on this but I like this WB programming airing late on WDKA here locally. As I said last week, WDKA has switched over to the My Network but is continuing to air WB programming delayed. I am always trying to find something to watch at night and have had trouble lately which is why I’ve watched seasons 4 & 5 of Friends on DVD again in the last 2 weeks!! I have gotten so far behind on 7th Heaven that I just had given up on catching up on that show. Well, Monday night at midnight saw WDKA air 2 episodes of 7th Heaven which I ended up getting hooked on of course keeping me up till 2am yet again this week. ha ha. I’ve decided that I am going to watch the rest of the reruns of last season and then jump back on with the new season on the CW Network. I missed this show!!
