Well now. The Playstation 3 and Nintendo Wii launches sure were a letdown. Just kidding!! That was insane!! People camped out all over the country trying to get their hands on these video game systems. Some wanting to play the new systems while most were looking to profit and sell them. The lines for Playstation 3 were crazy with violence even breaking out at some of the lines in the country. The Nintendo lines were said to be more tame mostly due to the fact that there were more Wii’s available to the public while PS3 was very limited. G4 did a special show on the release of Playstation 3. They came up with a lot of eye widening statistics. They did a lot of looking on Ebay to see what they were selling for. The highest that they saw a PS3 go for as of Saturday? $9,000!! The average? $2,700. There were reportedly 800 PS3’s sold on Ebay in the first 12 hours of the launch. The selling prices on Ebay have come down since Saturday but are still selling for quite a bit. The show did a poll question asking whether it was worth getting shot at to try and get a PS3. If you missed it, there was a report of gunfire at one PS3 line in the country. Unreal. The Nintendo Wii’s were also selling out in various parts of the country and they are said to be selling very well. Wii prices on Ebay are not as high cause obviously they are easier to get your hands on. 6,600 Wii’s were said to have been sold on Ebay in the first 36 hours after launch. Average selling price was $435. Some of the video clips that I have seen are just crazy. I’ve got another one later but here is a clip that I found of a mad dash to the door. It’s wild!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BanCCUo10d4
Woo hoo!!!!!!!!!! Veronica Mars news that we’ve been waiting for. Veronica Mars has been given an order of seven more episodes which will bring the total number for the season to 20 which is pretty much a full season. I can breathe a sigh of relief now. Whew!! Another show that has gotten more episodes ordered is One Tree Hill. 8 more episodes of One Tree Hill have been ordered and the number of episodes is up to 21 for this season.
Fox announced that they are ordering more episodes of two of their new shows. Six more episodes have been ordered for Standoff and a back nine episodes has been ordered for Til Death.
I watched a little of Comic Relief on TBS. It was on HBO as well as it usually is but this year it was simulcast on TBS. Wow, George Lopez was making the censors work overtime. They had to cut out a ton of his stuff. I was surprised at the language that was making it across the air. Whoopi Goldberg did make a joke later on saying that it just occurred to her that this was being simulcast on TBS joking about some guy back there hitting the censor button every 30 seconds.
CBS.com has posted a video teaser for an upcoming How I Met Your Mother episode. The episode’s story is the group finds out that Robin was a pop singer years earlier. Barney finds the video online. CBS.com has

NBC has ordered three more scripts of 30 Rock.

5,000 students were polled on who they would like to have as a substitute teacher. The poll was done in honor of Substitute Educators Day. Who would students like to have as a substitute teacher? Jessica Alba. She had 46% of the vote. Second place was Oprah Winfrey with 24%. Third place was Angelina Jolie with 14%. Fourth place was Will Smith with 12%. Fifth place was Andre Agassi with 4%.
Last week’s Survivor saw a cool twist added to the game. Aitu has won every challenge since Candice and Jonathan jumped tribes. Yep, four people in their tribe competing against the other who was loaded with players and the four keep winning pretty easily. Candice was once again sent to Exile Island. Aitu is letting her know that they didn’t like her move. Raro was forced to vote one person off and they voted off Rebecca. The twist? After the vote, they opened the bottle with a message in it that they were given earlier in the episode. The message read that they had to vote someone else out right then. WOW. I loved that twist. Jenny was voted out and was blindsided by the vote. Her exit message as the show ended saw her voicing her anger over being voted out. This season has been really good and I’m looking forward to seeing how it ends!!
I tend to get annoyed with VH-1 and MTV watching their music videos. Yes, they still do play them. My complaint is that they sometimes will show the same video three or sometimes four times in a two hour block. I cracked up the other day cause one video ended at the end of an hour and then the next hour kicked off with the same music video. Back to back. Pretty funny.

You Tube Video Of The Week: More Of The PS3 madness as two guys go around interviewing people at different stores. The language is rough in this at times so I’ll warn you if you are at work or have kids nearby. The first group in this video kind of scares me.
