The season finale of The Amazing Race is this Sunday. The final three teams are Tyler and James, Rob and Kimberly, and Lyn and Carlyn. Surprised to see Dustin and Candice eliminated last week. I really thought they would finish first and avoid their 30 minute penalty after being marked for elimination the previous week. They have overcome the odds so many times before that I guessed that they would do it again. One thing was for sure that all the teams were determined on them being eliminated. Lyn and Carlyn become the first all female team to make it to the final three. I’m picking Tyler and James to win.
Top DVD sales for the week ending December 3rd. 1. Superman Returns. 2. Ice Age: The Meltdown. 3. Cars. 4. Clerks II. 5. The Da Vinci Code. 6. Ant Bully. 7. You, Me, and Dupree. 8. See No Evil. 9. Over
The Hedge. 10. Cheetah Girls 2
Reports are saying that Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest has sold 5 million DVD in its first day in stores. WOW. The original movie sold 11 million total in its first week in stores.
A full season order has been given to 30 Rock by NBC.
It looks like TNT will be airing all all three movies of The Lord Of The Rings series in order on Sunday, December 17th beginning at 11:30 am.
Grammy nominations are out and leading the way with the most nominations was Mary J. Blige with eight. The Red Hot Chili Peppers got six nominations while eight others had five nominations each. Up for album of the year are: Justin Timberlake, Dixie Chicks, John Mayer, Gnarls Barkley, and The Red Hot Chili Peppers. The Grammy Awards will take place on February 11th on CBS.
Looks like ABC is going to get lost and not face American Idol with its hit show, Lost, on Wednesdays. Like my little clever line there? ABC is moving Lost to later in the night on Wednesday night to avoid
American Idol. The show will move to 9pm on Wednesdays beginning on February 7th.
I watched the episode of How I Met Your Mother where it was revealed that Robin had a past that she was keeping secret. She was a pop star in Canada and had a hit single that she performed all over Canada. Very funny. Even funnier was the slap bet. This was between Barney and Marshall. What is the slap bet? You make a bet and if the person is wrong, the winner of the bet gets to slap the other in the face as hard as the they can. They had a bet over what Robin’s secret was and each one kept thinking that they were right until the next twist came along. Hilarious!!!
Best episodes of Gilmore this season have been the last couple of them. That is my opinion anyway. Christopher was brought in to Stars Hallow and the town accepted him. That isn’t a good thing though as
accepting is another word for settling. The annual Knitathon was underway with everyone looking to knit for 12 hours to help raise money to save the bridge. Christopher as a good will deed decides to go ahead and donate the remainder needed to get to $10,000 just as the Knitathon had gotten going. They reached the goal and the event was over with everyone going home. He meant well but it ended up cutting short an annual tradition. Luke finally stood up to April’s mom, Anna, when he was told that her and April would be moving to New Mexico. Anna’s mother is in bad health and she decided it would be best to move out there to take care of her full time. April was very upset being pulled out of school and her friends. Luke finally stood up to Anna saying that April is his daughter too and he is going to fight on this decision. Now, Anna is keeping April from Luke after his promise of fighting for some sort of rights. An attorney basically told Luke that the mom usually always wins in these kind of cases but Luke is going to give it a try. Christopher ran into Luke and Lorelei talking outside the store as Lorelei was meeting Luke’s new baby niece. It really set off Christopher later on. Every little thing is setting him off with Lorelei leaving her clueless on what his problem is. Luke and Christopher ended up seeing each other in town late one night and ended up getting in a pretty good fight. They slugged it out for a while and then went their separate ways. Rory told Logan about knowing Marty from years ago but that for some reason Marty didn’t tell his girlfriend Lucy about it. Rory has always been confused by it but Marty was interested in Rory at one time and may still be. The four of them went out to dinner and Logan told the whole thing that he and Rory were introduced by Marty. Lucy went nuts over it being mad that they kept this from her acting like they didn’t know each other. Now, Rory is mad at Logan for telling and has lost two of her new friends in the process. Now, can we please kick Logan and Christopher to the curb??!!!!
Some controversy over the new Saturday Night Live Season 1 DVD set. Some fans have pointed out that they have noticed some stuff cut out of the sets including the still photos when they go to commercial and come back from commercial on each show. Broadway Video has been quoted as saying that those are cut out cause they don’t feel that they are part of the show and it makes the show flow together better with them gone. There are also a couple of segments that fans have pointed out that have been cut out in other episodes. Some fans don’t see it as a big deal while others aren’t happy at all considering Broadway Video was asked how hard it was to make the sets and they responded easy cause they didn’t have to change ANYTHING. I think that is one thing that has fueled people’s anger over it. Otherwise, I hear good things about the set and people are just thrilled that they have been released regardless of changes. Just depends on how passionate that you are about the changes.
