One episode left of this season’s Survivor. Tonight’s episode saw Ozzie once again win immunity. Parvati was voted out by a 4-2 vote. We’re down to the final five which are Yul, Ozzie, Becky, Adam, and Sundra. Hmm, not sure on how this will play out. I am going to pick Yul to win based on the fact that he has the immunity idol and someone will have to sacrifice being voted out if they want to get rid of him. Ozzie is on a major roll of wins and has looked dominate in challenges but that has made him a bigger target and his own tribe has been talking about getting rid of him cause he is such a threat to win. He could very well win all the challenges from here on out. I wouldn’t be surprised by that at all. It’s hard to pick with still five left and a lot of game still yet to play out. A lot of times in Survivor history, someone will sneak into the final two that you didn’t expect so we’ll have to wait and see if it happens this time. The Survivor finale will air Sunday night at 7pm on CBS with the two hour finale followed by the one hour reunion show.
The winners of this season’s Amazing Race is Tyler and James. Second place went to Rob and Kimberly with Lyn and Karlyn finishing third. It’s always exciting with how you race this exhausting race but it can come down to how good of a cab driver you can get or what kind of flight that you can get or even an easy pass at the toll. Yep, Rob and Kimberly’s cab driver didn’t know where the location was so they were following Tyler and James. Tyler and James were trying to lose them knowing that Rob and Kimberly’s driver was making moves like he didn’t know where he was going. The turning point that got Tyler and James ahead was when they got to the toll. Their cab driver had an easy pass and was able to go right through while Rob and Kimberly’s driver had to pay cash and wait in line. A cab driver with an easy pass meant a million dollars. A promo aired for the All Stars edition at the end of the show but teams weren’t revealed although there are rumors out there of a few teams involved. All Stars debuts in February on CBS.
Pirates Of The Caribbean 2 is indeed making big noise in DVD sales. It sold 10.5 million copies last week making it the highest one week total for the year beating out the previous chart topper, Cars. Expectations
are that it will eventually be the highest selling DVD of the year as it is for sure on its way.
Top DVD sales for last week are: 1. Pirates of the Caribbean 2. 2. Miami Vice. 3. Superman Returns. 4. Cars. 5. Ice Age: The Meltdown. 6. Beerfest. 7. 24: Season 5. 8. Da Vinci Code. 9. Pirates Of The Caribbean 1. 10. High School Musical
Since Midnight Money Madness has disappeared on TBS, two other very much alike shows have popped up. One is on WGN and is on late at night. Sorry, I don’t know the name of it. The second is GSN’s
PlayMania. I just saw this last night and it looks almost exactly like MMM. They have a British female host just like MMM and the overall feel of it is a lot like MMM. Between PlayMania and the WGN show,
I definitely think PlayMania is better. It’s a flashier show and held my attention for a while last night as I was trying to go to sleep but was wanting to see how this one game turned out.
Stacy Keibler, of Dancing With The Stars and WWE fame, has signed on as a regular on the ABC series, What About Brian.
Kristin over at E Online is saying that ABC has canceled the new Ted Danson show, Help Me Help You.
Richard and Ginger of Trademark Properties sent out an email this week saying that they are just about done with the new show on TLC. They promise that the show will be just like it was previously as it was on Flip This House. They still don’t have a new name for the show yet but are throwing around ideas. Apparently, they are still battling A&E over legal stuff with the old Flip This House show with the network changing crews but keeping the concept. They can’t comment on stuff that is going on under legal advice. Richard made a joke about A&E running a sweeps marathon of the show over the weekend with most of the episodes being theirs and not of the replacements. Can’t wait for the new show!!
Dr. Will and Mike Boogie from Big Brother All Stars won Best Showmance on the Fox Reality Channel Awards. Pretty funny. They pointed out in their acceptance speech that it was a Bro-mance.
There is going to be an online video game based on the Joss Whedon series Firefly. It is currently being developed and will be a multi player role playing game. Multiverse and 20th Century Fox will be producing the game.
Staying with the Joss Whedon theme, here is some news for any of you that are looking for the Angel DVD sets. Circuit City has seasons 1-5 of Angel on sale for $17.99 each till Saturday. They recently re-released the series in slimmer packages so make sure if it is the original release or the newer release that is on sale. Season 7 of Buffy is on sale at Best Buy for $16.99 till Saturday. Not sure if that is the recent slim pack release too or not. GREAT price on those!! Cheapest prices I’ve ever seen on them.
It looks like the experiment with the new game basketball in the NBA is over. If you didn’t know, the NBA decided before the season to switch the type of basketball that they use, going away from the traditional leather basketball. First time that it has been changed in decades. Players have complained about it since it was changed as many said that they weren’t consulted to test the basketball. Players are saying that it bounces different and is hard to control at times cause it’s slicker. It was apparently a decision with the NBA trying to sell more basketballs as consumers don’t buy the leather basketballs. The NBA is going back to the leather basketball in January.
