Issue two of the new Buffy season 8 comic should officially be out now. Issue one was very hard to track down and I expect issue two to be the same. My issue two is preordered and I’ll have a review of it when I get it.
This week’s American Idol featured Tony Bennett coaching the contestants. For me, Tuesday was an all right show but I wasn’t that big into it. Is it me or does this season just lack a big punch to it? It also is starting to feel like the show has become the Sanjaya show. The contestants were split into groups of three this week. The groups were split by top three, middle three, and bottom three. Top three were Melinda, Jordin, and Lakisha. Middle three were Blake, Sanjaya, and Chris. Bottom three were Gina, Haley, and Phil. Bottom two were Gina and Haley. Going home was Gina Glocksen. Bummer as Gina was probably my favorite of the season. I felt really bad for her going home cause she really wanted to win badly. She had one of the better voices for sure. I don’t even know what to predict for the rest of the season. I have a feeling that we’re going to have some major surprises ahead with who goes home too early. Hopefully, I’m wrong. What would I like to see? I’d like to see a final two of Melinda and Jordin. Next week? I have no clue who will go home. This season just hasn’t made much sense with who is going home. I expect Sanjaya to be around at least two more weeks. At least that many.
The CW has announced that 7th Heaven will end this May. 7th Heaven will end its 11 years of TV on May 13th with the series finale. I still don’t understand the decision to move that show to Sundays after it had built its following for 10 of those 11 years on Monday nights. I wonder what kind of effect this has on a lot of the WB/UPN shows that moved over to CW and have yet to be renewed. Example: Veronica Mars.
NBC has announced that 30 Rock has been renewed for a second season.
Rocky was voted off last week on Survivor. That was going to happen sooner or later cause I knew his mouth was going to get him voted off. One of the hidden immunity idols has been found. Yao Man found it and he and Earl worked together on finding it. Earl would lead the tribe off to do something allowing Yao Man to dig for it cause the idols are hidden right there on their camp. The other tribe is looking it for it on their camp as well. Funny thing as Yao Man made his own fake immunity idol and hid it where he found the other one. I loved that!! Imagine the look on Jeff Probst’s face when someone finds that thing and presents it at tribal council and Jeff wonders “what is that thing?” Favorites of mine so far are Yao Man and Earl. I like both of them. Everyone else I’m just kind of indifferent to so far. Poor Michelle last week. She was doing the calling for a challenge that involves a member of the tribe leading blindfolded members around to get various things to win. Michelle got so carried away in calling the action that she fell off the platform. I like everyone else hit rewind to see it again cause at first I didn’t think it was that bad of a landing. After watching it again, it looked a lot worse of a landing. She got right back up though and continued on.
A two hour episode of The Amazing Race this past Sunday night saw Team Guido eliminated. It also saw the teams get so separated due to problems with getting flights that the team in first place left on the next leg of the race before the previous leg was even over. I was trying to think if this had EVER happened before. I tend to think that this has happened at least once before but I’m not positive. Entertaining two hours of TV and I have really enjoyed this All Stars edition.
How about all the reruns of shows lately? The only shows that I currently watch that have been new episodes have been the reality shows.
There is still a LITTLE time to vote in the E Online Save One Show poll. Head over there to cast your vote on what show you would like to see saved.
Fox has stopped production on their new show, The Wedding Party. Seven episodes have been taped total.
Adam Sandler has jumped on board with a new Disney movie called Bedtime Stories. Production on the movie will begin later this year.
I really enjoyed the A Home Run For Trademark special last week. I was just glad to have something new to watch from Trademark. Only negative was that we didn’t have all of the full Trademark crew on it that we know from Flip This House. Promos ran for the upcoming Trademark series and I’m happy to say that it looks like most of the crew is going to be back on the new show. Looking forward to April 21st.
MTV has renewed The Hills for a third season. Hey MTV, will you please run a marathon so I can finally watch season two?
In the “WHY?” moment of the week from MTV, there is talk from the agency that represents Real World cast members saying that MTV is going to tape a reunion of the Las Vegas season of The Real World. The cast will reunite in the same place that the original season was taped. If this is true, all I can say is WHY??? I’ve said this before but this Vegas season was the reason that I quit watching The Real World.
I don’t know of any of you are fans of the show, The Wonder Years, but it just began airing on the ION channel. It is on weeknights from 9-10pm. We are getting the syndicated episodes on ION instead of the full versions. This is one of the most talked about shows with people wanting it released on DVD and it is example number one when it goes to music on TV on DVD releases. The reason that we haven’t seen it released is simple, the music. This show had so much music on it that it is impossible for it to be released at least like it was originally seen. The Wonder Years hasn’t been seen in syndication in many years so it is there if you want to see it. I’ve loved watching it again.
I promised forever ago that I would talk about the Growing Pains season one DVD set. I haven’t watched the episodes but have seen them in the past obviously. I wanted to comment on the extras on the set. There is about a three minute blooper reel that is funny. What I really enjoyed though was the new reunion footage that is on there specially made for the DVD. They had all the cast get back together and sit around a campfire to celebrate the season one DVD and tell stories about the show. This is fun especially if you’re a fan of the show like myself. Alan Thicke, Joanna Kerns, Kirk Cameron, Tracey Gold, Jeremy Miller, and the head writer of the show all get together to discuss their memories. They tell how each of them was cast on the show and their experience of how they bonded together as a family. If you’re a fan of the show, I think you’ll enjoy this box set.
