I’ve got to think that Journey is THRILLED with their song being used on the Sopranos finale. The scene that everyone is discussing about has “Don’t Stop Believin'” in the background. Fact of the matter is that they are thrilled. When asked if the song could be used, they were for it but wanted to know how it would be used first. Lead singer, Steve Perry, made sure to tell the producers that he didn’t want the song used in a “bloody massacre”. He says that he knew how the show was going to end cause of the fact that the producers said it would be in the final scene and what he agreed to. Did it help Journey’s sales? You’d better believe it. To no surprise, the song jumped up to number 25 on downloaded songs on iTunes. The Journey’s Greatest Hits CD jumped up to number 66 on Amazon.com.
I checked out the ABC show, Fast Cars & Superstars this week. If you’re unfamiliar with the show, it is a show where celebrities are teamed with Nascar superstars. A Nascar driver leads the way around the track while the celebrity follows in another car behind. The celebrities compete against each other in three timed laps and have to get a wheel on these arrows on the track as well. The three laps finish with them having to park the car perfectly inside the pit box. Fun show. This week’s episode had Jamie McMurray as the Nascar driver. Competing on this show was John Cena, Jewel, Gabrielle Reece, and Bill Cowher. Cena finished first and had a strong showing. Reece was eliminated. This Sunday is the finale. It will be six people competing for the win between John Cena, Jewel, Bill Cowher, John Elway, Ty Murray, and Tony Hawk.
TBS has acquired the cable rights for the reruns of My Name Is Earl and The Office. The shows will begin airing five days a week beginning in 2009.
The premiere of The Closer broke its own previous record becoming the highest rated ad-supported basic-cable series show ever with its third season premiere on Monday night. The show had 8.8 million viewers and TNT had more viewers for the night than any of the broadcast networks.
Some new faces will be appearing on Heroes this season. Coming to the show will be David Anders, Barry Shabaka Henley, Holt McCallany, Lyndsy Fonseca, and Dianna Argon. Anders will play an ancient samurai warrior who is also Hiro’s childhood hero. Henley will play a New York city detective. McCallany will play the leader of an Irish gang. Fonseca and Argon will be playing cheerleaders involving the storyline of Claire.
AOL has a TV Themes radio station. It is a lot of fun to listen to!!
I’m currently watching the last episode of The Wonder Years as the reruns are airing on ION Network. I’ve seen it before but I bet it has been at least ten years since I’ve seen the last episode. The ending to the story of what happened on into the future is still depressing. Kevin and Winnie don’t end up together??!! What was that about??!! We went through six seasons of Kevin and Winnie only for them to not end up together!! Other things we find out is that Wayne took over the family business after their dad passes away two years after that last episode took place. Sad!! Winnie went to school overseas and her and Kevin wrote letters to each other every week. Eight years later, she came home and Kevin met her at the airport with his wife and kids. Paul went to Harvard. I always enjoyed watching this show as a kid and all these years later, I still enjoy it. It was a unique show with the way it was done especially with the narration. When How I Met Your Mother premiered, my first thought was how it was sort of the modern day Wonder Years as far as how it is written with the narration.

Anybody remember the cult movie classic, The Monster Squad? I loved this movie and it is finally coming to DVD. The 2 disc DVD will be released on July 24th. Lots of bonus features to be had. This is what I have heard for them. Two different audio commentary tracks. One with the film makers and the other has some of the actors. Also included is a making of the movie, a reunion featurette with the cast looking back on the movie, deleted and extended scenes, and more. I’ll for sure be picking this DVD up. I can’t even remember the last time that I saw this movie as it never airs on TV. Don’t remember the movie, maybe this trailer for the DVD will help you remember it?

You Tube Video Of The Week: Robot Chicken spoofs Star Wars. This has a little strong language in it so be warned on where you are watching it. I watched this over the weekend and found it to be funny and cleverly written. I laughed out loud several times at it.
