How about this heat? Record high of 105 degrees today.
This Big Brother week saw the house flip once again. Jessica won HOH last week. Dick and Daniele were obviously furious that things didn’t go as planned with the votes last week when Kail was evicted instead of Eric. This would start the Dick rampage portion of the week. He went off on Amber and Jameka not long after last week’s live show ended which was shown on TV but in a chopped up version. Jessica to no surprise put up Dick and Daniele for eviction. Dick decided that what he was going to do was make everyone’s life miserable so he could save Daniele from being evicted. Make them all so mad at him that they would have to pick him to evict. That led to him waking everyone up in a rampage including pots and pans in Dustin’s ears and tons of personal stuff being yelled that went way too far. The veto competition occurs which leads to Dick winning it. Dustin volunteered himself to go up as a pawn to guarantee that Dick goes home as Dick had said he would use the veto on Daniele. That happened as Dick used the veto on Daniele taking her off the nomination block. Jessica put Dustin up in her place making it Dustin vs. Dick for eviction. The plan was to vote out Dick. America’s Player, Eric, got his task this week in that he should try to get Dustin nominated. That happened which led to him getting the next vote from America to vote out Dustin. Dick worked on trying to save himself going to Eric and talking game with him. They talked for about an hour on the same day as the veto ceremony. Dick then went and talked to Jessica as well. The idea had been thrown out there for an alliance but it really didn’t go into effect until yesterday. Eric had a conversation with Dick where they worked out an agreement to go to the final four together with Dick, Daniele, Eric, and Jessica. None of the four would vote for any of the four to be evicted. Daniele talked to Jessica for a while. Eric talked to Jessica about the conversations. They toyed with the idea especially based on the fact that Jameka can’t play for four more HOH competitions and pointing out that Amber isn’t strong in competitions. They decided that Eric should go talk to Daniele and talk about it more. The decision on the Eric/Jessica and Dick/Daniele alliance was made last night. Eric and Jessica decided to go for it with Eric deciding that they needed to make a strong move in this game. That led us into tonight’s episode. Interesting that they did not show any footage showing that the alliance had been made. Dustin gets voted out on a 4-2 vote which shocked Dustin. The votes for Dustin to stay came from Amber and Jameka. My hope for this vote and turn was hoping that Jessica was not going to have to break the tie. That would put all the heat on her for the decision. The HOH competition was held which was based off of the visitors that they had yesterday morning. It came down to Amber and Daniele. I just knew that Amber was going to win but she didn’t. Daniele wins HOH for the second time this season. The deal with Eric and Jessica looks smart now as Eric and Jessica very well might have been nominated. Daniele earlier today was talking about not wanting to align with Eric and Jessica and wanting to turn on them. Dick was very determined to tell her that they will keep their word to them cause of how big of a thing it would be for Eric to flip over to them. Dick wants to repay Eric for that loyalty with how huge of a commitment that he made to them and said he has no intention of turning on them.
What has happened since the show went off the air: Jokers had been upset with Eric on how he has not been completing tasks. That had led to many fans voting to mess with him on the task stuff. Tonight, Jokers is thrilled with the night feeling that Eric redeemed himself and the vote seems to be overwhelmingly targeting Amber on the America’s vote. Amber still looks stunned on the feeds as she listens to the people in the kitchen talking. Her face is that she is still registering everything. Jameka went right to bed and went to sleep to take a nap. Funny comment from Eric on Julie Chen as he asks if Julie is ever going to get through a show without botching a line with him questioning on whether she even knows their names. That is my wonder too. Just wait till she messes up an HOH competition. That happens at least once a season. She messed up the age of Amber’s daughter saying that she was 5 and in 3rd grade when her daughter is 8 years old. Amber did finally break down and start to tear up at the table and Eric whispered something to her and she walked off. It wasn’t bad or anything, probably a we’ll talk later or something like that. Dick walked in on Eric and Jessica talking on the bed. He looked at them laughing saying that they need to kiss. Jessica said to Dick: “You’re as bad as Julie”. Dick walked to them wanting to hear the story as he hadn’t heard about what Jessica had been asked by Julie about Eric. She had already told Eric. Dick, Eric, and Jessica all laughed about it. Now Zach is hearing about it and he and Dick are picking on them about it. The mood overall is really light in the house besides obviously Amber and Jameka. Jameka is still sleeping in bed as I type this. Hey, there is a new one that just got said over the loud speaker, “Jessica, please quit playing with your microphone”. I haven’t heard that one yet. Daniele is in possibly the best mood that I’ve ever seen her in. Amazing what HOH can do for a mood. Jameka does appear to have had a hunch of Dustin going and her and Jessica are talking. Things seem fine between the two from what I can tell so far. Amber is up and around but still just has this look of shock on her face and genuinely just kind of looks lost.
Other thoughts for the week. What are my thoughts on the house turn? I have mixed thoughts. Yes, Dick is way out of control at times and I really don’t like how far he goes with his comments at times. I feel bad for Dustin because he did help Eric out last week but it was a matter of time before he turned on Eric. Dustin also talked big on making moves or what he was going to say but didn’t follow through. I like Dustin but I’ve made it clear that I’m an Eric and Jessica fan so whatever gets them further is fine with me. Interesting tonight with Jessica saying that there might be something more between her and Eric especially when they get out of the house. Wow, that was interesting cause we haven’t gotten to hear that from her yet as she doesn’t reveal that to him or to anyone else in the house. A lot of times I’m trying to read her body language to him and her comments to see if she is interested or not. I’ve been back and forth on it trying to decide if she’s interested or if they’re just friends which goes to show that I know nothing when it comes to reading whether a girl is interested or not. LOL. All of you Big Brother romance people can have your Will and Janelle from last season cause mine is Eric and Jessica. I’ve been saying for weeks now with how close that they have been getting. They are just cute as can be together. I’m glad that I have the live feeds this year cause honestly sometimes I feel like I’m watching two different shows. The live feed version that shows everything and then the show version which is at times very much different than what I’ve been seeing. That editing on Sunday night’s episode of the argument between Dick, Jameka, and Amber was, well, quite a bit different than I watched live. I watched this whole thing go down live on the feeds and I don’t know if any of them came out looking good in it. Maybe they didn’t show it because they’d have to cut out every other word. I thought the Amber outburst on Eric last week was a fair edit and covered it for the most part. Tuesday’s episode was a good edit on recent events. I thought the show did a good job of covering all of the happenings. I cannot even tell you how much time I spend over at Jokers every day. It’s great to read the updates especially if I’m on a different live feed and then I can know if I need to switch over if something better is going on. It’s great to get the instant feedback from fans as well on what they are thinking as they watch. The media section is amazing. That site adds so much to the Big Brother experience.
What You Missed On The Live Feeds: I’m sure you saw Dick on his rampage where he woke everyone up. This occurred on Saturday morning and don’t think that this was a short deal. This went on all morning with him waking people up such as him banging pots and pans right in Dustin’s ears. He did this for several minutes. He was getting extremely personal with stuff that he was telling people. It finally ended when the group finally just gathered in the HOH room to get away from him. Well, now I know why the veto competition took so long this week cause the feeds were off for at least three hours on Saturday while we waited for the competition. We missed most of the Daniele and Jameka blowup. The feeds did not come back on after the veto competition until the moment that Daniele had pretty much settled down in the HOH room talking to the group so we missed most of that whole thing go down. She keeps talking about how they exclude her but she has isolated herself so much in this game whether it is with Nick or her dad. The only time she has socialized for the most part is when she is doing game stuff. Dick apparently gave a really nice speech at the veto ceremony about Daniele and it got CUT out of the show. It was so good that it had the houseguests choked up which you saw on the broadcast. The whole house talked about how nice of a speech that it was but we never saw it as it was cut off of the broadcast. Jessica was voted by America as the one that Eric should ignore for 12 hours. She took it hard cause she didn’t understand what was going on and ended up crying. He gave another reason for why he was laying low on Monday, he was sick. He told everyone that the doctors gave him some medicine and told him to stay away from everyone until the medicine kicked in. The funny thing? Amber started getting the same symptoms later in the day thinking that she was catching what Eric had. He had nothing. I have to laugh cause I’m the same way a lot of times when someone is sick and then I start paying closer attention to any kind of symptoms that I might have in common. LOL. The rest of the house started wondering if they were coming down with something as well. Mysterious non-illness going around the house this week. LOL. Watching the Mad Hatter appear on the live feeds was hilarious just seeing the reaction of the houseguests when they realized he was there. Jen’s face was priceless where she woke up and looked in realizing there was someone new. Dustin seemed incredibly freaked out by him. The Mad Hatter chased him down the hall at one point. Amber loved him. Dick was commenting on how is that on this day that this is the only time he is the last person awake as he’s usually the first one up. The feeds were loaded down with traffic during all of this and Jokers forums crashed cause so many people were on it. They actually shut their forum down for a little bit while the traffic settled down. This and the stuff in the back yard along with the statue and bunnies went on for a couple of hours. Eric lost a bet last week that made him have to streak for the house. He paid off on the bet on Tuesday when he streaked across the yard. Luckily, I was listening to the feeds in the background and not actually watching when this occurred!! LOL. Several of the houseguests have been playing a daily game of beer pong with lots of bets happening. Zach is the king of playing games in the house as he loves games. Eric and Jessica have been teaming up to play when they play two on two. Zach has frequently teamed with Daniele against the two of them. Zach got Dick to play in a game of it and Zach ended up being beaten in the game. Zach talked Jessica into going on a date with him where he cooked her dinner on Tuesday night. Eric wasn’t too happy about it but joked that she “is going home with me”. Zach then cooked for Amber last night and they had a meal in the living room with Amber’s thought being that they couldn’t discuss game being in the house cause Jessica said he was wanting to talk a lot of game when they had dinner outside the previous night. We also learned that Eric once worked on the WWE creative team for two months before he quit. Interesting. Someone on Jokers brought up a hilarious point this week. What would a house be like with Dr. Evil Will and Dick in it? Can you imagine Will and Dick having an argument? That would be GOLDEN!! Dick would yell and Will would probably just laugh and say whatever, vote me out. LOL. Either that or Will would probably poke holes in every theory that Dick had. Will is still my favorite Big Brother houseguest ever.

Season three of The Hills began this week. If you haven’t seen it, you may want to come back to this later as I thought I’d just share some random thoughts on the first two episodes of the season. Things have obviously gotten even worse between Lauren and Heidi after it looks like Heidi is the one that spread the rumor about Lauren. The two had it out at a birthday party in the first episode where Heidi couldn’t understand why Lauren wouldn’t speak to her. Lauren is of course now rooming with Audrina. Audrina is now starting to talk to one of her ex’s named Justin who did her wrong years ago. The two went out, and from the preview for the rest of the season, it looks like they will end up as a couple. If I’m Lauren, I’m thinking not again. Another best friend and roommate hooking up with a guy who has done bad things to the friend in the past. Let’s hope this one ends up going better than it did with Heidi. Whitney got the job at Teen Vogue and is now Lauren’s boss. Heidi and Spencer are now engaged. Speaking of Heidi, the opening credits really put a stamp on the fact that Heidi is being pushed off this show. She’s barely on the credits. I’m happy to see Lo back with Lauren as they were fun together on the first season of Laguna Beach. The production on the first two episodes was really good. I love the mix of the current music mixed in with the scenery and transition shots. That is one thing that has always grabbed me about The Hills and Laguna Beach is how they shoot the show. If I ever do any more movies or whatever, I am taking some ideas from this show without a doubt. Overall, I really enjoyed the premiere and The Hills has become one of my favorite shows. The Hills premiered to 3.6 million viewers on Monday night and was a ratings success.
James Marsters, best known for his role of Spike on Buffy The Vampire Slayer, has been cast as a detective on Without A Trace. The role is said to be a recurring role for now but could move into something else if all goes well.
Michael Ausiello over at TV Guide is talking about Kristen Bell of Veronica Mars fame being up for a role on Lost. He is saying that she turned it down due to her not wanting to relocate to Hawaii. That would have been a great addition to the Lost cast as I think Kristen is an amazing actress.
Live With Regis and Kelly will celebrate the 20 year anniversary of the show on September 14th. The show will be a look back over the 20 years. Kathie Lee Gifford has been announced as making an appearance on the anniversary show.
Add John Lennon’s name to the list of Beatles that Apple now has the rights to sell solo material of on iTunes. Lennon’s music started selling on iTunes on Tuesday. The only member of The Beatles that Apple does not have a deal with is George Harrison but it is being speculated that it won’t be long before his music is available as well. Talk still remains on when The Beatles catalog as a group will begin to be available on iTunes as well.
Production on the new season of 24 has stopped yet again. The storyline for the season had already been changed which was what held up production already as the show was going to have some episodes shot in Africa which was going to cost quite a bit to do. They threw the idea out for the overall storyline for the season and started over. The holdup this time revolves around giving the story writers some more time to work on the scripts. Production on the new season was reportedly set to begin on August 27th but has been pushed back to around September 10th.
NBC is looking at every alternative on ways to offer their new shows to viewers. NBC is set to launch the pilots of four of their new shows which include Chuck, Bionic Woman, Journeyman, and Life. They have worked out deals with most cable companies and with satellite companies to offer the shows. I’m kind of curious as to the wording of the DirecTV offering saying they will offer their own version of the NBC preview. Not sure what that means. They should start showing up on the cable and satellite systems beginning around September 10th and stay up for a couple of weeks. Check your TV providers on how or when they are offering it. Cable systems are also supposed to be offering a two minute trailer of season two of Heroes, and new scenes from 30 Rock and The Office. Good idea by NBC to try and grab some viewers before the fall season kicks into full effect.
High School Musical 2 premieres tomorrow night on the Disney Channel at 7pm.
It never surprises me when I hear of the latest Fox show and the lack of taste that goes with some of them. The latest one is called Nothing But The Truth. It is going to be a game show that sees contestants being hooked to a lie detector. They will then be asked 21 questions such as cheating and whatever else. If they answer all of them truthfully, they walk away with $500,000.
DirecTV announced last week of new features that they have coming to their TIVO’s in early 2008. The best feature in my opinion is the ability to go on DirecTV’s website and have the ability to set up a recording in case you forget to set something to record. It will be able to contact your receiver. They are adding a recently deleted folder where you can delete shows and it will keep them there for a very short time while you also get to keep the deleted space on your TIVO. There is also an option being added where it will be something to help with when you have overlapped scheduled recordings. I can’t really explain it as I don’t really understand the wording on what it is supposed to do. Upgrades will only be sent to the receivers who have “the TIVO Series 2 platform”. They do have DirecTV DVR models listed that won’t be getting it so you may want to look into that. Pretty cool news so there you go if any of you have TIVO receivers with DirecTV.
I’m not really crazy about a lot of the new shows so far for the new season but one that I do intend on checking out is Big Bang Theory on CBS. The previews of it have been funny and I’m definitely going to watch the first episode to see how it is.
A new Johnny Carson DVD set will be hitting stores later this year on November 6th. It will be a 12 disc set. This set includes the 6 disc Timeless Moments set that has previously only been available to Carson Club members. Also included in the set is the 3 disc Ultimate Collection, 2 disc Stand Up Comedians set, and Carson Country. The box art work for the set looks amazing and if you’re a Carson fan, you may want to look into this set. Retail price is $99.99 for the set but Amazon is supposedly offering it for a $69.99 preorder.
