We start off tonight’s episode with the dismantled Kele tribe returning to camp with just Sophi and Alex and the bond of this duo. As day 7 begins, the most Kele thing happens as their boat ends up in the water and Sophi loses one of her shoes while dealing with the boat. Sophi talks about how Kele is just cursed. All tribes later arrive at a challenge. Jeff announces a tribe switch to which Sophi and Alex cheer out loud. Jeff says that the tribe switch was already on the agenda for 14 players but it happened sooner than expected. Drop your buffs as Kele stomps on their buffs. LOL. Kele talks of their morning to which Sophi says she is wearing someone else’s shoes other than her own. LOL. Everybody draws a buff to reveal their new tribe as we’re going down to two tribes. Sophi and Alex are separated as Sophi moves to yellow with Hina. Alex stays with blue and Kele. Sophi upgrades to a beach that has everything while the new Kele tribe with Alex goes back to that beach which has nothing. Fake out from Jeff here as he says there actually isn’t a challenge. Just the tribe switch so now it’s time to see how the new tribes mingle with one another.
Hina arrives back at their camp. Sophi is welcomed in with warm greetings and food. On the flip side, Alex gives the new Kele members a yeah sorry everyone, this is it, welcome to this camp. LOL. The new tribe sits around introducing themselves with Alex saying he’s had one coconut there in one week. With Hina, Sophi immediately gets into the social game looking to make allies. Sophi and Savannah talk about wanting to bond being the only girls on the tribe with Savannah saying Sophi reminds her of people she’d hang out with back at home. An early quick bond between those two. She also has a good convo with Nate who sees Sophi as an honest open book seeing her as an asset to the tribe. Savannah digs into getting to know her new tribe including talking to Matt who opens up to the group that his original background was high up in finance. Savannah gets very nervous over learning that and gets uneasy wanting to target him. On Kele, Shannon and Kristina bond over talking about Kristina sadly losing her mom to addiction. Just such a sad story of how powerful addiction can be and what it can do. My heart just goes out to her with that. Geez.
On to day 8 with this week’s immunity challenge. The tribes arrive and Kristina has Sophi’s shoe saying it washed up and they had found it. LOL. Fun moment with that. Part of the reward is bananas and Sage isn’t having it saying she doesn’t need diet food and she wants carbs. LOL. The rest are all for this food. The challenge gets going. Matt struggles getting the blocks across the beams to start which is getting Hina immediately behind. Once teams get to the next part, it’s block stacking. You must find a way to get the blocks to stack up high. Block stacking sees Hina making a huge comeback with Nate’s height advantage. Shannon is doing it for Kele for a bit making big progress. But they have to redo strategy multiple times. Rizzo is up on Nate’s shoulders for Hina and they’re close but can’t finish it. Kele has pivoted and MC finishes it off for Kele for the win. Kele wins immunity and sadly Sophi once again is without immunity. Jeff takes the flint and Sophi went from having flint to being without flint again. She talks about how she never thought of herself as an unlucky person but here she is on the losing side again.
Back at Hina. Rizzo tells Sophi about his advantage searching. While that is going on, Savannah starts digging at the well without Rizzo saying to Nate and Juwan that we need to find this. Savannah finds it. Nate gives the clue to Rizzo who goes searching out at the rock for the idol. He opens the chest in the water with the key and he now has a hidden immunity idol while also getting his own vote back for tonight’s tribal council. On to vote strategy talk as Rizzo, Savannah and Sophi discuss the vote being between Jason or Matt. Matt talks to Rizzo saying he knows Rizzo and Savannah are going to control the votes and he throws out Sophi’s name to them. Rizzo and Sophi talk to Matt as they are feeling out this vote. Jason tells them he’s going to just play his shot in the dark. Matt floats to Juwan about voting out Nate and making a big move. Juwan takes this information immediately to Rizzo, Savannah, and Nate. Savannah and Rizzo prefer Jason to go over Matt. But what will happen?
Tribal council. Nate reveals that he knows his name has been thrown around. Matt plays dumb. Rizzo and Savannah talk about how they want to work together going forward and not about being tribe strong of old tribes. Juwan also talks about being in the present and in the now. Matt says he’s not going to throw Jason or Sophi under the bus to which Nate says you threw them under the bus to me. Sophi’s facials are cracking me up through this whole tribal council as she reacts to things. Time to vote and Jason is the first one up who walks like he has no clue what to do. LOL. Nate votes and says “you’ve said my name multiple times today so go kick rocks, bro” and we have our episode title. 4 votes on Matt. 2 votes on Jason. 1 vote on Nate. Matt voted out. Savannah and Sophi are votes for Jason. Matt voted Nate. The rest voted Matt.
