Survivor 50 – “You Told Me To Do This”

admin March 12, 2026

Mike White’s line of “you told me to do this” on the tribal council vote will definitely be an iconic Survivor line that will be replayed for years ahead. Very fun episode tonight! I’ve got a ton of notes that I’ve taken on the episode so I’m ready to get right into it!

Last week’s previews showed us that we were getting a tribe swap tonight. However, we start the episode with the fallout of the Christian and Devens fake idol play from last week. More checking on Christian with his fake fall. LOL. Christian and Devens celebrate on how well it went. The next day for Day 7, the tribes get tree mail with a clue to which everyone basically figures out that there is a tribe swap coming up. Christian and Devens talk of that they need to reveal the Aubry idol to their alliance so they’ll be aware of it if they get split up. They decide to put a twist on it though and make it sound like Devens got it instead of Christian since Devens is the “idol guy”. Christian will act surprised as if he’s learning about it too. The plan goes into play as they pull Cirie in telling her while Christian goes full shock face. The plan gets stalled though on the next round as they plan on telling Emily as well. The problem? They can’t get Emily alone to where they can tell her about it. They go off to meet with Jeff before she is able to be told. The tribes arrive at what looks like a reward challenge and instead we get a……Jeff rap. LOL. In the rap, he reveals that a fan vote decided that there will be a tribe swap. Christian leans over to Emily telling her about the idol to which Emily in her confessionals is completely annoyed that she was left out of it and told so late. Charlie gets what feels like his only TV time to this point cause geez, he’s barely been on these episodes so far. Jeff asks Charlie what he thinks of the fan vote to which Charlie takes a jab at the fans cause he was not wanting the chaos of a tribe swap. He then gets asked did you vote and what did you vote for? Charlie says he did vote online for the tribe swap while laughing which was a funny moment.

Drop your buffs and draw for buffs. The new tribes are chosen and here are the new tribes: Cila – Cirie, Charlie, Devens, Rizo, Jonathan, Dee, Kamilla. Vatu – Stephenie, Q, Ozzy, Angelina, Christian, Emily, and Mike. Kalo – Tiffany, Coach, Colby, Genevieve, Chrissy, Aubry, and Joe. Christian stays with Emily so this dynamic will be interesting going back to camp on how this fallout is. No reward challenge. Just go mingle with your new tribes. We go to Kalo first with a very happy Joe saying he is now getting to work with two people he wanted to work with and that is Colby and Coach. Coach, of course, loves Joe’s whole honor and integrity thing. What happens when one of them turns on the other breaking that? LOL. Or maybe they ride the whole way. Who knows? The three of them seem locked so far anyway. They bring in Chrissy. Coach tells her to bring her energy and such down revealing that she had rubbed the other tribe wrong and was becoming a target. That breaks Chrissy down in tears saying how she’s having to deal with this again of people not liking her. But she chooses to use this as a wake up call and a chance to change up her story here. She also talks that out with Aubry and Genevieve about it. Over to new Cila. Kamilla is happy with her new tribe. Cirie and Devens try to figure out how to work their dynamic in the new tribe. Rizo tells Cirie that he has met her before at a casting call when he was 18 years old. Cirie is doing her happy face thing again of smiling having company of the new people that you don’t really want. LOL. Dee talks of how she loves Cirie and how everyone loves Cirie. She shares this with Jonathan while Dee shares how her friend told her before she left that you have to target Cirie early cause everyone loves her and you have to get her out. Jonathan agrees. We move over to Vatu. Mike is feeling good as he knows everyone on his new tribe before even arriving to Survivor 50. Q pulls Ozzy aside telling him that they were the ones that sent him the idol. Emily talks of being open to working with Q and Ozzy. Emily then goes into full wrecking ball mode with her admittedly in confessional saying that she can never keep info to herself. And she sure can’t cause she keeps talking to everyone. LOL. She tells Ozzy and Q about Christian telling her about the Aubry idol. She also tells of how she doesn’t trust Christian anymore cause he kept her out of the loop. Q feels good with Emily now with Emily telling her this. Q tells Stephenie this idol news. Emily is listening to Q and Stephenie talk but immediately starts feeling bad about this alliance saying they are the ones driving the conversation while she has the role of listening. An anxious Emily then goes to Angelina to tell her that Q and Stephenie were telling her not to trust Angelina. A tearful Angelina gets her wake up call of that she is on the bottom of this thing and we have a big bonding moment of Emily and Angelina over this moment. Emily isn’t done as she now goes to Christian and tells him that she told the others about the Aubry idol. LOL. Christian is in full panic now saying why did you do that but figuring out how to make this work. Emily tells Christian that Angelina is on the bottom of that alliance.

Day 8 begins over at Kalo. Genevieve talks of how this tribe swap worked against her after she had done such a good job of forming social relationships. Again, she is working really hard to right what worked against her on her previous season. Genevieve starts over again working around the camp making sure to start building some new relationships. Along with doing this, she also floats Aubry’s name of someone she doesn’t trust and wants out. She tells one person too many as she tells Tiffany who likes Aubry and wants to work with Aubry. Tiffany takes this info to Aubry. The two of them lock in with one another. Over to Cila. Rizo talks of how he is now a free agent. He comes up with a plan to try and align with Charlie. And it epically backfires immediately. We see Rizo in front of everyone mention to Charlie asking if he and Maria talk anymore. Maria didn’t vote for Charlie to win their season after them being each other’s number two. Charlie says they haven’t talked since the show. Rizo is wanting to use this as a way to get in and bond with Charlie for an alliance. He tells Charlie about the boomerang idol twist including how it works and such. Looks like he is making progress with Charlie…..until we get a flashback from the night before. They ask Rizo about Survivor 49. Shout out with Sophi getting a mention tonight! He talks Sophi and how she was his best friend there. Then…..he is asked if he voted for Sophi to win and he says no, he voted for Savannah. Uh oh. We have some major Survivor PTSD moment here with Charlie saying Rizo did to Sophi with what Maria did to him and that makes him not trust him.

Immunity challenge time with the classic blindfolded challenge while callers tell their tribemates on where to go. The callers are Kamilla for Cila, Christian for Vatu, and Chrissy for Kalo. Kamilla rocks this and is the MVP of the challenge! They win by a big margin. Kalo finishes second. Vatu is a distant third and will be going back to tribal council. My first thought is this is going to be crazy with all the talk of who to go after and with how Emily has been all over the place with telling info. Emily was messy in this episode and it was a ton of fun to watch. What is Emily going to do? So, we go back to camp. Mike tells Stephenie immediately that his vote is going on her. Christian tells Stephenie and Q that he’ll vote for Angelina. Mike tells Emily that he wants Q out. He pitches this to Christian and Angelina too. Another person that was mega messy in this episode that was fun to watch was Q. Mike tells Q that he wants Stephenie out. Q goes into protection mode wanting to protect Stephenie. Q says to vote him to which Mike says in his confessional that Q just offered up what he actually wanted to do. Q tells Mike that he’s going to use his extra vote which he doesn’t have and actually doesn’t have a vote. Messy. LOL. Emily pitches Q to Ozzy but Ozzy is hesitant on taking out Q cause he’s afraid of weakening the tribe on this particular vote. Emily is wanting to work with Ozzy. That gets us to tribal council. Nothing earth shattering here with anything talked about. Q is voted out on a 5-1 vote including Mike holding up his Q vote saying “you told me to do this”. Stephenie is the only vote to go anywhere else as she is on the Angelina plan so she gets blindsided.

Some other notes from tonight. The Survivor 50 theme song open debuted tonight and it looked beautiful! I laughed at Cirie with her fake smiling and enjoying people thing. This is what she did on Big Brother too. I’m having replays of the umpteenth Big Brother cast member to have their birthday that summer and the birthday sing along to which she says “you’ve got to be kidding me” as she gets up and goes out the door with a smile on her face singing “happy birthday to you”. LOL. Hilarious moment on Big Brother that season. A couple of brutal moments during the immunity challenge. First, the ring being tossed in the air nailing Rizo right in the head. Ouch! Second, Colby going headfirst right into the pole. I wasn’t sure he was going to get to his feet cause he was staggering bad for a few moments there. Final note. I love this season!
