2 hours of Survivor 50 this week which I wasn’t aware of till we got 90 minutes in and I was ready to rant about thinking the episode was wrapping up without a vote or an advantage reveal. LOL. I said wait, is this two hours tonight? Pulled up the guide and said ok yes, 2 hours. Save the rant. LOL
We start this episode at the end of Day 18 with the Christian vote fallout. Ozzy talks of how he struck at Emily and Christian first before they could get him. Ozzy talks to Emily where she is saying that Christian and Devens were her day one number ones to which Ozzy says but I thought we were that too. Emily is trying to do damage control and says in confessional that this is the first time she’s been on the wrong side of a vote and the struggle of it. Emily and Devens sit together on the hammock trying to figure out what to do from here with Devens saying we’re two psychopaths so let’s do some crazy things. Day 19 opens up with Devens deciding to come clean about the fake idol to the tribe. Joe still wants Devens out just like Joe always wants Devens out. LOL. Fun surprise next as the Survivor Auction is back. I love the Survivor Auction. Everyone gets $500. They can bid in $20 increments. They can share money. They also share food if it is food able to be shared. If you don’t spend all your money, you can keep it. However, there is a twist of you may win something with comfort but there might be an even trade of chaos or a combo of both. A couple of sharing moments where Aubry bought an item and picked Rizo to take part with her. Rizo says no to chaos as he is a picky eater but Aubry says that’s fine cause I’ll do it all myself. The comfort is cookies and milk but the chaos is eating two grubs. Aubry says I’ve got this and takes care of it immediately. LOL. Jonathan makes a buy but has to pick someone else as well and he picks Ozzy. It’s a surprise comfort and chaos with them picking which hidden item will be theirs. Jonathan has to eat sea slugs and Ozzy gets fried chicken. Things pick up big at the end when there is one last secret item. Everyone can either get comfort or chaos but everyone either has to put in $20 or it’s nothing. Do they put in $20 and risk that this is chaos? They all put in $20 and it is letters from home. But there has to be chaos to balance it out. This brings in a surprise from Mr. Beast. He introduces a twist in the game called the Super Beware Advantage but they won’t know what this is until they get to tribal council. Next surprise is that they aren’t going back to camp but are instead going straight to the immunity challenge.
The immunity challenge is them standing on a thin platform balancing a ball. Stephenie is the first out followed by Rizo. They move down to the next section. Cirie and Aubry go out this round. Devens has some spectacular saves in this round. They move down to the final section which has Devens struggling to get himself in place to start. Devens goes out quickly once it gets started. Emily goes out followed by Jonathan. This leaves Tiffany vs Joe vs Ozzy. Joe goes out. Ozzy goes out next and that gives Tiffany individual immunity. Lots of emotion from her with the win as she mentions that she went home on Day 19 last time and that she didn’t want the same result this time. She said she used it as motivation to win. Awesome job by Tiffany. Everyone goes back to camp where they read their letters from home. And…..then the chaos starts happening. As I was watching the rest of this episode, I said I don’t know even how to recap all of this and if I can even recap it accurately cause there was so much going on. In an episode themed on chaos, we sure got it. Jonathan is ready to target Ozzy. He goes to Stephenie saying that Ozzy had been floating her name out there which he says in confessional is kind of half true but he’s trying to get this going. That gets Stephenie going. Jonathan has pitched Ozzy to Stephenie and Aubry. He pitches it to Devens. Devens goes and tells Emily that Jonathan is pitching Ozzy. Jonathan pitches Ozzy to Joe. Joe tells Cirie. Cirie is again ready to shut down anything on a target on Ozzy and she points out that this would turn the power of the game over to Jonathan and Stephenie. Stephenie talks to Cirie and Tiffany. She pitches Emily or Devens to go which Cirie knows is a lie cause she’s heard that Stephenie and Jonathan are pitching Ozzy. Cirie tells Ozzy what is going on and says Stephenie is lying. Cirie then starts pitching Stephenie to go. Ozzy then tells Jonathan about Stephenie. Jonathan tells Stephenie what Ozzy said to him and her name is now floating around. Stephenie goes into panic mode saying she’s going to use her steal a vote. She starts roaming around. Then the name of who to target goes to Rizo, to Aubry, to Cirie, to pretty much everyone on the island. LOL. Sitting pretty though with his confessional is Rick Devens who says they just gave me a whole lot of info in that chaos and I’m using all of it.
We get to tribal council and Devens leans over to Aubry saying I’m about to blow it up to which Aubry says she’s about to do the same. He does indeed. He outs Stephenie and Jonathan’s plans. He outs Stephenie’s steal a vote. He pitches for both of them to go. Stephenie admits to the steal a vote but denies most of the rest. This is setting up to be a chaotic vote. Mr. Beast returns. It’s time to learn what the advantage is and it’s a gold coin. Basically, one person will flip the coin and call it with either heads or tails. If that person flips it and calls it wrong, they go home. If the person flips and calls it right, the overall prize money for Survivor 50 goes up to $2 million and also the person gets an immunity idol along with safety sending the tribal council to a vote. My first thought was oh no, this is how Cirie is going to go where she goes without actually being voted out again. Devens immediately volunteers to be the one who wants to flip the coin. He knows he’s in trouble anyway and says if he plays his shot in the dark, it’s only a 1 in 6 chance so this is a 50/50 chance. Everyone is fine with Devens being the one to flip it. Devens steps up and flips the coin and calls it right. Incredible! Rick Devens doing Rick Devens things. LOL. So, he went from likely being out to where he now is safe, has an idol, and has doubled the prize money. Now we’re back to where we were and we’ve got a vote set to happen which turns into a live tribal. Lots of fun here seeing everyone trying to figure out what to do. Will it be Aubry? Will it be Stephenie? Will it be someone else? Stephenie steals Devens vote so she has two votes. She votes twice for Aubry but everyone else votes for Stephenie and Stephenie is voted out 8-2.
Wild episode tonight. I was not sure how I’d feel about the Mr. Beast appearance cause the celebrity appearances so far have been too much. I thought his appearance was a good balance and the twist was interesting especially with Devens choosing chaos. This could have went easily wrong though if a fan favorite had went home and this tribal council that had all sorts of heat didn’t happen. I can only imagine the chaos on if Cirie had went home on this twist. Again, I loved the Survivor Auction. It’s always one of my favorite all time Survivor things. Wild two hour episode.
