This week’s Wrap Up Q&A comes from Kyle Howard. He is one of the stars of the TBS comedy, My Boys. I sent him some questions about My Boys and I want to say a huge thanks to Kyle for answering my questions for the Q&A. Here are the typed responses that he sent over to me.
What was it about My Boys that made you want to do the show?
originally, the people. betsy thomas also created run of the house and she is the best boss ever!!
The narration of the show from PJ is very unique with how life with the group is always compared to the chemistry of a sports team. What are your thoughts on how that adds to the show?
a lot of people think voice over takes away from a show because it’s not like real life. i disaggree, i think we narrate our lives in our own heads constantly, and the sports analogies are great..
Do you have a group of friends or know of people that have a similar relationship like Bobby, PJ, and the gang?
my sister is very much like pj. biggest cub fan ever!
Do you have any similarities between yourself and your character Bobby?
not many. i know nothing about baseball and i definitely wouldnt steal any of my wardrobe..:)
We’ve been teased with Bobby and PJ getting together only to have it not happen. Would you like to see them get together or just remain friends?
i like us as friends but its TV, u never know what could happen…
What do you feel is the strong point of this show that makes it so appealing to fans?
the chemistry of the cast. so natural. and great writing..
Do you have a favorite episode so far?
i loved doing our latest episode to air, the one where they find out i’m loaded. last years finale at wrigley is hard to beat too.
I have to ask a question about the show, Run Of The House. I was a big fan of it and still feel it is one of the funnier shows that I’ve seen in years. I was bummed to see it canceled. I thought you were hilarious in it!! What are some of your favorite memories of working on that show?
again, great people. betsy thomas is great and always surrounds herself with great people. that was also some of the most fun i’ve ever had playing a particular character.
Can you give us any kind of tease on what to expect for the rest of the new episodes of My Boys this season?
gotta keep watchin to see who pj takes to italy…
