Big Brother 28 finale night! Who will win the money between Devens, Drew, and Taylor???? I’m ready to get right into it.
The first part of the episode was just filler for me in a way cause I already knew the results. First part of the HOH goes to Taylor. Second part of the HOH goes to Devens. The first thing I was interested in was the jury segment. We get the reveal of Dee walking in and of course Angela screams, “I knew it!” cause that’s Angela who says she knows everything. LOL. Melody says I think Drew just messed up cutting Dee as Melody has been very big on that he needs to cut Devens. Lala says Taylor will have to tell her why she deserves her vote. Dee talks about how Drew was able to play both sides and balance both sides. Dee does back up Drew and also Devens. Barrett says Devens advantages should be a reason he doesn’t win. Lala was pushing about how Devens and Dee had fans from both worlds voting things for them. Dee says it’s a bigger target on them as a result. The jury seems to be backing up Drew quite a bit where it looks like he might be in a good spot here. I was concerned for Devens with the arguments made against him by some of them. Let’s get to the live stuff. Part three of the HOH takes place with Devens vs Taylor in a true/false questionnaire of which of the three statements said by each juror was false. Devens ends up winning that one and has enough of an advantage where they don’t have to complete every question. Nowwwww comes the question. What does Devens do? We had seen Taylor pitching to him last night of why he should not take Drew with her saying she’d work the jury against him and how Drew could be his 4th vote to win. Devens had clearly stirred on it but we never heard him say out loud on what he was going to do. He had been rock solid on Drew all week up until that point yesterday. The time comes for Devens to make his decision and he says Taylor made a great pitch at the last minute last night and it made a lot of sense. He said he was sorry but it’s about putting him and his family first and he cries while evicting Drew. Complete blindside and a self owned betrayal. Drew walks out in complete shock and tears in his eyes. During his interview, he says it was the right move by Devens while also adding that he thinks Devens would have been able to beat him too. Geez, I felt so bad for Drew here. Just a brutal turn of events for him. It was the right move for Devens but oof did it hurt. The jury questioning is up next. Taylor tried to take credit for the Lyric/Melody vote flip which did not go over well with some of the jury. Devens does talk about the advantages that they got but that they found clever ways to use them. Devens talks of how the icons were targets every single week and how they had to maneuver against that constantly. Drew asks when Devens decided to not take him to the final two and Devens says it was the night before when Taylor made a great pitch of final two. The way Devens said it sounded like it might help Taylor’s cause of look at this move she made. We get to the vote. Melody saying she was voting for the biggest shark told me that this vote was might be a landslide for Devens. Drew then saying “I’m not sorry, I’m just disappointed” in reaction while he voted. LOL. Dee of course comes up there hyping up Devens. The vote does end up being a landslide. 6-1 vote for Rick Devens to win Big Brother 28! Lala was the only vote for Taylor. Just such an emotional moment with Devens and his family who were all in tears celebrating. What about America’s Favorite Player? The top three were Devens, Drew, and Yash. Over 30% of the vote went to Devens for AFP. Julie points out that between the win, the curse, and AFP that Devens won $810,000 which is quite the payday for the summer!
Incredible win by Rick Devens. I was so badly wanting to see him win tonight. With him getting so close on Survivor and not seal up the end game, he was so concerned about doing it again. It was something he spoke about out loud this week tearfully of that he can’t mess up the end game again. I kept thinking how heartbreaking this is going to be if he gets this close and then not be able to seal it. This season has been such a great season. I’ve had so much fun. I’m so sleep deprived as well which is the sign of a fun Big Brother season. To close the night, Julie announced that Big Brother has been renewed for seasons 29 and 30.
There you have it. Rick Devens wins Big Brother 28 on a 6-1 vote!
