Day 9 in the Big Brother house was the quick rise and fall of Ashley. The previous night was where the leftovers pulled in Ashley to work to save her. This goes horribly wrong very quickly on day 9.
The story of day 8 was Angela paranoia and that is how we started day 9 with Angela talking to Dee in the storage room just about the state of everything. She talks of basically apologizing to Dee saying “I promise I’m going to be less schizophrenic” which Dee downplays in an everything is fine style of response in reaction trying to calm Angela. When Dee leaves, Angela puts her head down on the counter saying to herself that she’s got to be better as an ally and be a better alliance member. The story of the day quickly changes when Ashley starts roaming around the day. The night before, Dee, Barrett, Drew, and Angela had given her help on how to go about things the next day with navigating this of how she was going to be saved. Now, Ashley took this and went about her day of spinning this talking to people. She did it horribly wrong. Ashley seemingly seems to have decided to try and get the girls of Lyric, Mallory, and Melody over to her side to where she wanted them to be on the majority vote side. She talked to Lyric and Mallory about this and there being sides of the house. The thing that ended up landing the hardest with Lyric especially was her saying there are sides of the house? This was news to Lyric. Things really get rolling when Ashley has the same conversation with Melody. I think Ashley was under the impression that Drew had clued Melody in on this but this was new info to Melody. Ashley says basically, you didn’t know this? Drew is leading this. Ashley is pushing wanting Melody to jump in so she’s on the right side of the vote. What Ashley wanted to accomplish with this and the result it got in Melody were two very different things cause now Melody is in panic mode. She later is starting to play pool with Drew. Melody goes into very direct questions looking fuming with a “are you playing me?”. Drew has no idea what is going on and Melody fills him in on what Ashley is saying. It was interesting to watch Drew try to react to this in real time. At one moment, she asked him a question and he went into an I’m distracted spraying on my sunscreen mode before he answered the question. LOL. I’m talking an awkwardly long time of probably 20 seconds. She grills him for a bit. “Are you in with them cause she named every name in that group and you were in it”. He denies knowing about any of this and tries to spin it as she’s going to throw things out of anything to try and save herself. Next, Barrett walks up on the pool game. Now, we have him getting filled in on this. You have two people in the alliance fully aware of the save Ashley plan cause they’re in on it getting grilled by Melody. They’re trying to spin this after Ashley went rogue. LOL. It was quite the dynamic to watch in real time and I said this is why I love Big Brother so much. No other show gives you the game dynamics that you can watch happen unedited in real time. This finally ends. Drew goes inside and talks to Kamu saying we tried with Ashley and she messed it up. Haley walks in and she gets filled in. Devens walks in and he gets filled in. Barrett and Devens have a short exchange with Devens saying “so nobody can keep things to them self” and Barrett says “so, you’ve heard?” LOL. The group debates on what they should do now on keeping Ashley or sending her out. Some say they might want to keep her cause “she’s a dumb player” and the threat level would be lower. Drew goes and tells Dee what is going on. Dee, Devens, and Angela talk and they come to the conclusion of whether Ashley is even worth this much trouble to expose our alliance. Is she even a good number for us for this much trouble to be exposed? Through convos, they all decide to just let Ashley go. They all say to just do nothing about it with response. Don’t panic Ashley. They said Ashley would have had to get one of the votes of the girls anyway and that isn’t going to happen now anyway. Dee also said again that if it comes down to a tie that she’s keeping Taylor cause of the promise she made Taylor. Dee said she can’t get more blood on her hands with breaking that promise after a week and a half of the game. Their attitude turns to ok Ashley, if you want to stay, you’d better go win blockbuster. Haley walks in on this meeting. Haley isn’t happy cause all names got mentioned from Ashley of who she had for votes. Angela, Devens, and Barrett met again with them discussing Ashley with Angela saying she doesn’t know if she believes this on Ashley. This is the problem with Angela. She wants info but then doesn’t believe info she gets. LOL. Later, Dee, Barrett, and Angela talk. Angela’s paranoia continues to run with her being paranoid of something she said to Dee right in front of Haley. Paranoia and guilt has eaten all over Angela over it and Dee said I don’t even remember it and don’t think it was a big deal. It was something like she told Dee ‘I’ll leave separate so we aren’t seen together’. Dee and Devens met later in the backyard and they’re bailing on the keep Ashley plan. Haley later talked to Ashley in the living room about what all had happened. Haley hits her with the keep my name out of your mouth, don’t mention my name again. Melody told everything that you said and it spread around the house. Ashley is in retreat mode and says she was told to say that and tells the story of the crossovers telling her to do it. Angela did walk by while this convo was going on with them telling Angela what was going on. Ashley trying to spin of what she thought she was doing. To close out the night, Kamu and Devens talked. Devens had talked of trying to go to the rest of the house and get everyone on the same page with the vote. They agree to just vote Ashley out. Haley gets in the convo and they tell Haley the confirmed plan is to just vote out Ashley cause they don’t have the votes anyway especially with Dee breaking the tie. Just vote the same instead of drawing lines in the sand. No need to expose themselves on a vote that means nothing now. If Ashley wins blockbuster, vote out Yash. They decide to spread around and get the house on the same side. Kamu goes and talks to Rome immediately. They talk of the events of the days with Melody. They get on the same page easily and agree to just vote Ashley. Devens talks to Rome. Same convo and conclusion. Easy conversations and good conversations. Drew walks outside and Devens clues in Drew that Ashley is out. Devens talks to Drew saying it’s so easy to work that side of the house cause you just have to convince them that it’s their plan and they’ll go with it.
Other happenings of the day. Devens in his convo with Rome also talked about Lyric. He said you’ve got to clue in Lyric to speak up better about game talk cause she’s going to get taken out cause of it. He said every time he tries to talk to her and he asks her things she says “I don’t knowwwwww” with being unsure and he says she just never gives him anything. He told Rome, she’s a very smart girl and she just needs to figure out how to handle game situations to which Rome agreed. Rome said he’d talk to her about it and did later. Rome told her that Devens said you’re very smart and complimented you and said you need to be better equipped for talking game or it could hurt you in the game. Lyric agreed on the advice. I’ll take this moment to comment on the episode last night too. I enjoyed the episode once again. The Dr. Will and Howie cameos in the veto competition were fun. How has it possibly been 20 years since I was sitting in front of my computer watching BB7 live feeds. That was one of my favorite live feed seasons of all time and likely my favorite season of all time period. It brought back flashbacks of the line of “oh boy Janie”, “oh boy Howie”. LOL. I thought the comp was fun too with Will basically being Biff Tannen. Wow, did they full lean into the villain edit for Jason. When they showed that with crying session with Angela, I kept waiting for them to fade out and not show the look at the camera but they did and leaned in with the DR stuff around it too. BB was not afraid to go villain edit. They also gave a pretty good villain edit on Melody dropping Mallory after nomination. On the feeds yesterday, Jason had a crying moment with Angela in the storage room and Angela hugging him and encouraging him. When everyone leaves besides Angela, she talks out loud of what a good job she is doing playing this up with Jason and how she’s playing him and not the other way around. Her plan has been to go back at him with kindness while knowing what he is up to.
So, tonight is the first eviction episode of the season. Barring something crazy today, the plan is to vote out Ashley. If she wins blockbuster, vote out Yash. The house will be aligned on the vote.
